Lillian Sobel Engaged
To Robert L. Reiss

MISS LILLIAN SOBEL

The engagement of Lillian
Sobel to Robert Leonard Reiss
was recently announced by the
bride-elect's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. David L. Sobel, of 3750
Glendale. The bridegroom-to-be
is the son of Mr. Samuel Reiss,
of 3290 Rochester, and Mrs.
Robert B. Brown, of the Fort
Wayne Hotel.
Miss Sobel graduated from
Wayne University. Mr. Reiss at-
tended Wayne U. and the Uni-
versity of Michigan. The wed-
ding date has been set for Nov.
1.

Culture Club Plans Picnic
An outdoot-indoor picnic has
been planned by the Israel Cul-
ture Club of the Jewish Com-
munity Center for 1 p.m., July
18, at the Simons Branch, 4000
Tuxedo. Featured will be a gar-
den party, music, dancing and
refreshments.

Arthur Klein, Midwest division

bicycle is Richard Richardson,
Jr., of 8020. Southfield, while
winning free pony rides for a
year at Kiddieland were Susan
King, 18491 Robson, and Linda
Jane Shelby, of 32125 Highview,
Farmington, Mich.
Mr. Klein stated that in addi-
tion to these main prizes, there

DETROIT AUXILIARY recent-
ly received commendation at the
Department convention of JWV
for its participation in member-
ship efforts. The Auxiliary won
the Edith Hoffman trophy for
percentage gain and the perma-
nent :trophy for the largest
gain. Ethel Shear, an Auxiliary
member, was cited for individual
,achievement in bringing the
largest number of new members
into the Department. Under the
supervision of Rose Cowan and
Theresa L e y, child welfare
chairmen, the group recently
made and donated 17 dolls to
the Orthopedic Clinic for Cere-
bral Palsy Children.
