Cong. Nhavas Achim this week
announced its policy - for the
High Holy Days. Only members
and their families, the an-
nouncement said, will be seated
during the holidays on Sept. 10,
11 and 19.
The statement added that
some memberships are still
available for those who wish to
join. Plans for expansion of the
congregation are currently un-
derway on the 150 foot front of
property on Seven Mile and
Schafer.

Honor Roll committees of all
groups of Detroit Hadassah are
working through the summer
months in order to get a head
start on this important organ-
izational effort.
Mrs. Sam Arkin, president of
Central East Group,has ap-
pointed Mrs. Morris Jacobs as
Honor Roll chairman, with Mrs
Maurice Neback, co-chairman.
Mrs. Perry Burnstine has also
been active on the committee.
Keeping pace is Central West
Group, which has been holding
regular summer meetings to
prepare for fall activity. Led by
Mrs. Aaron Friedman, president,
Mrs. George Kamenow is vice
president of fund-raising, and
Mrs. Kolma,n Sasche is Honor
Roll chairman.
At a special Detroit Chapter
meeting this week, Mrs. William
Isenberg, president, announced
plans for the overall Honor Roll
effort, which will be highlighted
on Oct. 21 with the annual $100
dinner. Mrs. Charles Gershen-
son is currently arranging tal-
ent for the event.
Mrs. Samuel Rhodes is Honor
Roll chairman for the Detroit
Chapter, and Mrs. Milford Pre-
gerson is co-chairman.
The Chapter membership
drive, under the direction of
Mrs. Norman Rom, is also being
planned. Several events have
been scheduled for October.
