JERUSALEM, (JTA) —A new
rate of exchange will be sought
by the Jewish Agency from the
Israel Government for foreign
currency which the Agency
brings into the Jewish state. A
resolution to this effect was
adopted at the concluding ses-

The two agencies are partners
in c o o p e r a tive funel'-raising
through the Joint Defense Ap-
peal which leaders from both
groups organized 11 years ago.
The JDA 1953 campaign is for
$5,000,000.
Jacob Blaustein of Baltimore,
president of the American Jew -
ish Committee, and Henry Ed-
ward Schultz, of New York, na-
tional chairman of the Anti-
Defamation League, both em-
phasized that the work of the
joint operating committees will
not affect the autonomy or in-
dependence of either agency.
