Iraqi Jews will go on trial for
their lives in Baghdad on charges
of espionage in behalf of an
enemy country and attempts to

on the matter - in an interview
with a reporter for Time Maga-
zine, which gave SaVitt its cover
story last week.

Appointment of Henry Ford.

Crusade.

of a similar undertaking in the
Far East. The Michigan goals
are a million signatures and
$118,000.
Congress Observes
JNF Golden Jubilee
JERUSALEM, (JTA) - A spe-
cial session of the 23rd World
Zionist Congress celebrated the
Golden Jubilee of the Keren Ka-
yemeth, the Jewish National
Fund.
Dr. Nahum Goldmann, presi-
dent of the Congress, told the
gathering that the transforma-
tion of rootless persons into men
of the soil was an integral part
of the Zionist revolution.
Eliezer Kaplan, - Israeli Minis-
ter of Finance, told the gather-
ing that he could not express
the Government's view on the
controversial issue of merger of
the national funds. He stressed
the role of the JNF in obtain-
ing loans needed by the coun-
try and said he knew that the
government needed the coopera-
tion of the JNF.
Dr. A. Granott, world head of
the fund, pledged to the gather-
ing that the JNF would continue
its effort to live up to its past
record.
Rev. J. K. Goldbloom, of Lon-
don, read to the conference a
proclamation calling on t h
Jewish people of the world to
support the .JNF. The proclama-
tion was signed by Dr. Gold-
mann in the name of the World
Zionist Congress.

TEL AVIV, (JTA)-A total of
519 enterprises which enjoy spe-
cial rights in relation to taxes
and the export of profits in for-
eign currency were organized.
