El, Rabbi Sidney Akselrad will
preach a memorial sermon on
the third anniversary since the
death of Dr. Leo M. Franklin.

MRS. HUGH D. LICHTIG
arrangements, Mae Mona Dix,
daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Irving
H. Dix and Hugh Donald Lich-
tig, son of Dr. and Mrs. Henry
Lichtig of Shaker Heights, Ohio,
were united in marriage, in the
Crystal Ballroom of the Book-
Cadillac Hotel on July 21. Rabbi
Fram officiated.
The bride wore an ice-blue
satin gown combined with Pointe
d'Venice lace. It was distin-
guiShed by a deep bordered
neckline finished with a band
of the lace which extended
down the snug bodice. This was
repeated in the very full bouf-
fant skirt which swept into a
cathedral train edged in Pointe
d'Venice lace. Her fingertip veil
of silk illusion was held in place
-by a cloche of matching lace
and pearls. She carried' a white
Bible centered with white or-
chids and stephanotis.
Attending the bride was her
sister, Shirley Joy Dix, as maid
of honor and her sister-in-law
Cecily Dix as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Shirley Rose
Greenfeld of Los Angeles, Calif.,
Kathleen Gindick of Waukegan,
Ill., and Florence Weintraub
who sang "Because", and a
"Wedding Song" composed by
the matron of honor.
Dr. Harmon Dix, brother of
the bride was best man. Ushers
included Lawrence and Sheldon
Lichtig, brothers of the bride-
groom and Buddy Goodman, all
of Cleveland, and Joseph Gar-
son.
Out-of-town guests were from
Los Angeles, Chicago, Indiana,
Cleveland, and Pittsburgh. After
an extended honeymoon
through the west the young
couple will reside in Detroit.

At a board meeting of Adas
Shalom Synagogue, it was decid-
ed to use the social hall for
auxiliary services during the
High Holy Days. David Garen, a
leading American cantor, will
chant the services, and a com-
petent rabbi will conduct re-
ligious services.
Seats in the social hall are
available to both members and
non-members at a low initial
rate, and may be acquired at the
synagogue every week day, 9a.m.
to 5 p.m.
Arranging for the services are
Morris Sukenic, J. Maurice Karo,
Ira G. Kaufman, Samuel Sim-
mer, Rabbi Jacob Segal and N.
R. Epstein, president of the con-
gregation. Charles Charlip, as-
sisted by David Desow, is hand-
ling seating arrangements.

Israel Parliament and of Moat-
zot Hapoalot, Pioneer Women's
counterpart in Israel, in a letter
expressed gratitude over Pioneer
