Dr. Silver Discounts Freiheit Report
As 'Colored' Account of Red Alliance

NEW YORK (ANP)—Dr. Abba
Hillel Silver made his first
public defense in the contro-
versy raging in the Yiddish
Press here over his strong at-
tacks on President Truman's
foreign policy.
The dispute has raged for the
Past month with such charges
by the Socialist Forward as that
World Zionist leader was the
"d a r ling of the Communist
press". Dr. Silver had repaid the
assault by - referring to the For-
Ward on an earlier visit to New
York as a "journalistic tramp".
