This is the architect's sketch of the new Bnai Brith Hillel
Foundation Building, to be erected at 1429 Hill St., Ann Arbor.
Beginning of construction of the new building will take place Sun-
day. A luncheon at 12:30 will be followed by the convocation at
Lane hall at 3 p.m., with Rabbi Arthur J. Llelyveld, national
Hillel director, as guest speaker. The event also will mark the
annual statewide pilgrimage and'
Hanukah festival of the U. of M.

dent of Greater Detroit Bnai
Brith Council, and Sidney Kar-
bel; from Bay City, Abe Roman;
from Chicago, Mrs. B. C. Bolotin.
Student spokesman will be
Walter J. Rubiner, president of
Hillel Student Council. Repre-
senting the Michigan Hillel
Foundation will be Irwin Cohn
of Detroit. Osias Zwerdling
president of the Ann Arbor Beth
Israel Community Center, will
present greetings.
The new $350,000 building will
provide for a chapel seating 300,
a student lounge, recreation
room, library, music room and
the necessary office space. Plans
for the building were drawn up
by Theodore Rogvoy of Detroit
and consultant architect Max
Abramowitz of the firm Peren-
son and Abramowitz of United
Hanukah Greetings
Nations Building fame. Lerner-
Linden Co. of Detroit are the
builders.
Rabbi Herschel Lymon is di-
rector of the Foundation in Ann
Arbor. This will be the first an-
nual pilgrimage of Jewish people
from all over the state and he
expressed the hope that the pil-
grimmage would be a yearly in-
stitution which would strength-
en the liaison between Jewish
life on campus and that of the
general community.
