The Northwest Institute of
Adult Jewish Studies will begin
its fourth season of activity on
Tuesday evening, Nov. 29. Insti-
tute sessions will be held on 20
consecutive Tuesdays, from 8 to
10 p.m.
Three new instructors have
been added to the staff. Albert
Elazer will conduct a lecture
course on "The Land of Israel
—Its Geography, History, People
and Politics." Two Hebrew class-
es will be offered—the begin-
ners' class to be instructed by
Alex Roberg and the intermedi-
ate refresher course by Michael
Michlin. These classes will all be
held from 8 to 9 each Tuesday
evening.
At 9 o'clock the students of all
three classes will assemble in the
chapel for the new course to be
conducted by Rabbi Segal, a
series of lectures and demon-

nati, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas
City, Syracuse, Scranton and
Buffalo, on Thanksgiving week-
end, Nov. 24 to 27, for the 19th
mid-western convention.
Sessions will be held at the
Barium Hotel, Friday evening
and Saturday, when they will be
at the Young Israel Youth Cen-
ter, Jerome W. Kelman, chair-
man of the convention, an-
nounced.
The Rayos Girls of Young Is-
rael will sponsor a party in the
Center Saturday evening, Nov.
12. The Young Israel Youth
Council is conducting a teen-
age rally at 1:30 p.m. Sunday,
Nov. 13. A full-length movie,
"Pot of Gold," and features will
be presented.
The Young Israel Institute for
Jewish Studies will enter its sec-
ond week. Tuesday registration
will continue for one week in all
classes.
Enrollments will be taken in
Jewish history, Judaism in prac-
tice (laws and customs) contem-
porary currents in Israel and
the American Jewish scene,
Tuesday evenings; selections
from the Talmud and conversa-
tional Hebrew on Wednesday
evenings, and Hebrew lettering
on Thursday evenings. Daf Yomi
for laymen and Rabbis meets
Thursday evenings.
