NCJW Plans Series
On,Mental Hygiene
A fall series of mental hygiene
programs, • in cooperation with
the Wayne County Chapter of
the Michigan Mental Hygiene
Society, is- being offered by the
Detroit Section, National -Coun-
cil of Jewish Women, beginning
Tuesday, Oct. 25. All meetings
will be held at the Jewish Com-
munity Center, and except for
one evening meetings will start
at 1 p.m. .
On Oct. 25, "Discipline" will be
discussed by Marjorie Sanger,
head of the nursery school at
Merrill Palmer. Future talks will
be given by Dr. Fritz Redl, on
Nov. 1, Dr. Harry August, Nov.
15, the evening; Mrs. 'Mary
Guiney, November 29, and Har-
old Webster.
Mrs. Louis Zlatkin and Mrs.
Major Seigel are co-chairmen of
the mental Hygiene committee.

Memorializes Late Head
In memory of the late presi-
dent of Bnai David Men's Club,
Ben Fellows, a religious and Ju-
daism class has been founded.
The class, for. men and women,
will be held at Bnai.David social
hall every Thursday evening
from 8:30 to 9:30, beginning
Thursday, Oct. 27.
The Men's Club also an-
nounces the first meeting of the
Bnai David Boy's Club at. 9:30
a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 in the Bnai
David social hall. All boys over

Selfhelp Group to Hold
Charity Bazaar No 12
For the - third - consecutive
year, the Detroit chapter of
Selfhelp of Ernigrees from Cen-
tral Europe, is planning a char-
ity bazaar.
President Walter Herz has an
nounced that on Saturday,: Nov.
12, Selfhelp will take over the
ballroom floor of the Fort
Wayne Hotel for the event. Ba-
zaar committees have been ap-
pointed, with Paul Corby and
Alex. Wolton serving as co-chair-
men. ,
A feature of the 1949 bazaar
will be the children's bazaar on
Sunday, Nov. 13, with entertain-

two of their outstanding mem-

Diana Robins, on the occasion
of the former's 50th wedding an
niversary and the latter's 25th
wedding anniversary.
In commemoration of this oc-
casion, the. Council of Mothers'
Clubs inscribed the name of Mr.
and Mrs. Hyman Drapkin in the
Golden Book- of the Jewish Na-
tional - Fund and the Davison
Mothers' Club sent a contribu-
tiontion to the Hadassah Child
Welfare Fund in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. Mack Robins. e

Premiere at Conference
The Balfour Ball will be held
at Hotel Statler, Saturday night,
Nov. 5. The entire ballroom floor
has been obtained for the an-
nual dance, sponsored by the
Detroit Zionist District. Phil
Brestoff and his orchestra, an
Tonita's Rhumba band will pro-
vide the music.
Proceeds of the ball-will main-
tain the Zionist office in De-
troit and help finance youth
activities, educational and poli-
tical work, and the national
Zionist Fund.
