A reception for Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Malamud, in honor
of their recent marriage, will be held at the home of their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Malamud, 4092 Sturtevant, Sunday, Oct. 16,
from four p.m. through the evening. No cards.
Martin FOrman of Newport News, Va., is spending the Sukkot
season with his mother, Mrs. a Forman of 2002 Blaine.
A number of farewell parties were given for Donald W. Mann,
S; 3rd USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Mann of Los Angeles, form-
erly of Detroit, who left Oct. 12 for the Naval Base at Guan-
tanamo Bay, Cuba. He was home on leave for the holidays after
an absence of 14 months in Cuba. ,
Dr. and Mrs. Louis. E. Kamin of 2247 W. Boston Blvd. were
hosts to seven couples at a dinner party at their home Oct. 8.
Rabbi and Mrs. Isaac Halpern will be at home to members
of Cong. Beth Abraham from 3 to 6 p. in. Sunday, Oct. 16.
Alvin Harrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Harrison of Monica
Ave., has returned from three years' service with the United
States Marines. He was stationed on the West Coast and in
Alaska.
Mrs. Andrew Wineman of Hamilton Dr., her daughter, Mrs.
Eugene Arnfeld of Strathcona Dr., and Mrs. Henry J. Moses of
Wildemere Ave. have returned from a week in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shroder of Birmingham left Wednesday
on a 10-day motor trip through the east.
Dr. Albert Loveman of Louisville, Ky., spent the last week
in the city visiting with friendS.
Mrs. - Jack Brophy has returned to her home in New York
following a visit as the guest of Mr: and Mrs. James Stein of
Northlawn Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shapiro of Pittsburgh spent the last week-
end in Detroit visiting with friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Klein Of Chicago were the guests for a
few days last week of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Benjamin Shwayder of Fairfield Ave.
Mr.- and Mrs. Charles Hamburger of Chicago Blvd. and Mr.
and Mrs. David Diamond of Longfellow Ave. returned Thursday
from a week in New York:
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Jacobs of Glynn Ct. left Monday to visit
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Feldstein of Birmingham, Ala.
