A Kosher Meat Women's Ac-
tions Committee was organized
May 16 at the Jewish Commun-
ity Council.
The refusal on the part of
the kosher butchers to post
prices in their shops, together
with a series of other practices
operating against the kosher
meat consumer, drives thou-
sands of young Jewish house-
wives to buy non-kosher meat,
in violation of the traditions of
our people, it was explained.
Reports were heard from Dr.
S. Kleinman, chairman of the
internal relations committee,
Robert Nathans, chairman of
the sub-committee on kosher
butchers, and Julius Weinberg,
internal relations director of the
Council.
More than 50 women's organ-
izations are represented on this
committee which plans to solve
this problem.
Mesdames Samuel S. Aaron,
Julius Ring, and Miriam Slobin
were chosen co-chairmen.
