degree in Clinical Psychology from Wayne • University
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Cohen of Windsor will celebrate their
50th wedding anniversary Saturday evening, Feb. 14 at the Shaar
Hashomayim synagogue, Windsor. They are the parents of Mrs. B.
Nathan, Mrs. S. L. Goodman, Mrs. George Bassin and Molly Cohen
of Detroit, Sam Cohen of Windsor, and Mrs. M. Katzman of

ing the celebration included Mrs. Gilmore Block of St. Louis, Mo.,
Mr. and Mrs. James Sales and son, David, of Cincinnati.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Wallace are celebrating their 25th wedding
anniversary at the Arlington Hotel, Hot Springs, Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gelehelin of Pennington Dr. left for a two
weeks' trip to New York and Washington, D. C.

the open. meeting of CHAPTER
ONE, ZOD, at 8:30 p. m. Thurs-
day, Feb. 19, at the Rose Sittig
Cohen auditorium. Young men

Sunday evening, Feb. 29, Chapter
One will take over Club Casa-
nova for its Leap Year dinner-
dance for members and non-
members, stag or coupled. Reser-

Leadership Training Institute will

Bnai Brith Young Women will
present a round table discussion
in observance of Brotherhood
Week Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Cen-
tral High School. Three guest
speakers will take part in the
discussion, under the auspices of
the Jewish Community Council.
Technicolor movies will complete
the evening's program. Girls
aged 18 to 25 who are interested

AZA CHAPTER 661 will hold
a series of three events this week
end. Sabbath eve services and an
Oneg Shabbat will be held Fri-
day evening at the Wayne Hillel
Foundation. Bob Steinberg will
lead the service and Leonard
Sandweiss will direct the Sobol
choir in several selections. A de-
bate on Universal Military Train-
ing will follow, with Sander Le-
vin, Fred Stoller, Lew Pommor-
ance and David Siegle participat-
ing. Installation of officers will
be held at a dated affair on Sat-
urday, with past president Alvin
Goldberg as installing officer. At
11 a. m. on Sunday a brunch will
be held and a tobogganing party
is scheduled in the evening.

on brotherhood at a meeting at

"Is the Marshall Plan a Plan
for Peace?" will be the subject
debated by students from Temple
Israel and Temple Beth El in the
February YOUTH SPEAKS for-
um. This third in the monthly
series of forums will take place
at 7:45 p. m., Feb. 18 in the social
hall of the Northwest Synagogue.
All students of high school age
are invited to- attend and partici-
pate in the audience discussion
which will follow the debate. A
social hour, including refresh-
ments and dancing, will complete
the program.

celebrate its second anniversary
at an open house at p. m. Sun-
day, Feb. 15, at the Wayne Hillel

Appear in Concert

Lovely Bride

The Joint Yiddish Culture
Committee of the Jewish Com-
munity Council and the Jewish
Community Center will present
a special program of Jewish music
Sunday evening, Feb. 8, in the
auditorium of the Center, I.
Zemel and J. Rosenshine, co-
chairman, announced.
Featured artists will be Zinovi
Bistritzky, violinist, and Bernard
Rosen, clarinetest, of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra, and Pavel
Slavensky, baritone, musical di-
rector of the Northwest -Hebrew
Congregation and of the Halevy
Singing Society. Rebecca Frohman
will accompany them on the
paino.
Zemel will open the program
with remarks on the significance
of Jewish Music Month.

MC Human Relations
Group Offers New Angle
In Ending Discrimination

Detroit Women's Division of
the American Jewish Congress
announces a division meeting for
all chapters to be held in the
form of a Kaffee Klatch at 1 p. m.
Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Rose
Sittig Cohen auditorium.
The human relations committee,
under the direction of Mrs. Louis
Tatken, divisional vice-president,
will present, by means of socio-
drama, a new approach to the
alleviation -of discrimination.
Working with Mrs. Tatken are
the following chapter vice-presi-
dents of t h e human relations
committee: Mrs. Emmanuel Ein-
stein, central; Mrs. G. Kionel
Willens, northwest; Mrs. Williani
Cohen, south, and Mrs. Alfred
Bleier, northeast.
Those participating in the pre-
sentation are: Mesdames Allen
Weston, Sol Dann, Janice Men-
delsohn, Albert Kaplan, Herman
Kazdan, Edward Zackin, Arnold
Weitzman, Harr y Last, Julius
Stross, Selden. Koblin, S. Schmidt,

Bnai Moshe synagogue was the
scene of a candlelight ceremony
uniting Betty Marie Duschinsky,
daughter of Mrs. Helen Duschin-
sky and the late Bert Duschinsky,
to Sidney Berg, son of Mr. and,
Mrs. Sigmund Berg of Leslie Ave.
Rabbi Morris Adler officiated.
The bride's gown was of candle-
light satin and rose pointe, lace,
with a court train. Her three-
tiered' veil of illusion fell from a
tiara of orange blossoms, and she
carried white orchids and sweet
peas on a white Bible.
She was given in marraige by
her brother, George Dukhinsky,
and was attended by Clara
Wiesenberg, maid-of-honor; Ce-
celia Duschinsky, matron of
honor; and Clara Klein, Florence
Brumer, Melanie Weinberger and
Betty Lebowitz, bridesmaids.
Burton Selik served as best
man a n d Edward Duchin, the
bride's brother, Ralph Brumer,
Dave Horowitz and Arnold
Goldenhar were -ushers.
The young couple have returned
from their honeymoon in Florida
and are at home at 4088 Clements.
