Palestine of Today and of the Ages

Ellen Thorbe e's,Alook
Has Great Social Value

Of the scores of books published on Palestine in recent
years, none has been as impiessive, as Ellen Thorbecke's
"Promised Land," which Harpei's produced this week.
Its fascinating presentation lies in its facts and figures,
in its pictures and sympathetic viewpoint, in its confidence in
the justice of the Jewish cause.

William Hordes, president of
the Jewish National Fund Coun-
cil of Detroit, this week praised
the activities of Zelik Resnick,
Dexter haberdasher, in behalf of
the JNF box collections.
"Mr. Resnick is our leading box
worker," Mr. Hordes said. "The
total income from boxes in his
store this year will exceed $300.
This may be a record not only
for Detroit but also for the entire
country, and I wish to congrat-
ulate him and to thank him for his
effort in behalf of all JNF work-
ers in Detroit."

Announcement was made this
week by the , Jewish National
Fund Council that Mr. and Mrs.
David Rosen of 5260 W. Outer
Drive have planted three gardens
in the Harry Schumer Forest in
Palestine in memory of the fol-
lowing:
