Mr. Jack Halperin has joined Mrs. Halperin in Los Angeles and
they are visiting the Arrowhead Springs Hotel, San Bernadino, Calif.

Mrs. Harvey Elbinger of London Ave. is spending the month
of February in Miami Beach.
Miss Dorothy Fishman of Webb Ave. has returned home after
receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of
Michigan.
Mrs. Michael Gold and daughter, Marilyn, entertained at a
luncheon on Jan. 25 at their home in honor of Miss Ruth Lesser of.
Glendale Ave., a bride-elect of Feb. 18.
Dr. and Mrs. H. Herbert Cohen and daughters, Brenda and Yo-
landa, are now residing in their new home at 19206 Stoepel.
Mrs. Michael Gold and daughter, Marilyn, entertained at a
luncheon on Jan. 25 at their home in honor of Miss Ruth Lesser
of Glendale Ave., a bride-elect of Feb. 18.
Mr. and Mrs. David Iwrey of 2998 Burlingame had as their
guests Mrs. Morris Suid and Mrs. Abe Suid of Cleveland, who were
in Detroit to attend a shower • for Mrs. Iwrey's niece, Gladys
Rapoport, whose marriage to Al Bloomenfield will take place Feb. 8.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rothstein of 17356 San , Juan Dr. have re-
turned from a month in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Waronoff, formerly of Detroit and now
of Washington, D. C., returned home after a short visit with Mr.
and Mrs. Milton Harris of 18488 Hartwell. Mrs. Harris is a sister
of Mr. Waronoff.
Mr.•and Mrs. Harry -Singer of 2932 Cortland Ave. have returned
from a month's vacation in Hot Springs, Ark.
Joseph A. Roe of 3375 Collingwood has returned from a month's
stay in Miami.
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Himelhoch of the Whittier have left to
spend a few weeks in Palm Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Oppenheim of Whitmore Rd. have re-
turned from a fortnight's visit in Philadelphia and New ork.
Mrs. Lillian Kaplan and Mrs. Theodore Kelter of Cherrylawn
Ave. are leaving this Friday for New York and from there will go
on to Miami Beach where they plan to spend a few weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davidoff of Calvert Ave. have as their
guests, their daughter, Mrs. Marvin Nussbaum and her small son,
Brewster, of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Monroe Rosenfield of -the Belcrest left last Sunday for Los
Angeles where he plans to spend a month visiting his brother and
sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M. Welling.
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Gershenson have moved from the Lee Crest
Apt. and are residing in their new home in Woodingham Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. David Wilkus of Boston Blvd. are spending a
few weeks in Palm Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weisman of Edison Ave. had as their
guests last week their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Weisman of Connelsville, Pa.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Winkelman left last Saturday for Palm
Beach where they will be guests at the Whitehall Hotel for the
month of February.
Jerry Shroder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shroder of Bloom-
field Hills, who recently was discharged from the U. S. Army, left
last Sunday for Princeton, N. J., where he will resume his studies
at Princeton University.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Grant of Chicago Blvd. are vacationing in
Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Janeway of Canterbury Rd. left last Sat-
urday to spend a few weeks in California.

Gerber Visits Alaska;
Views Army Task Force

Lipman S. Gerber of 2491 Haz-
elwood has returned from a
three weeks' trip to Fairbanks,
Alaska. He represented the
Army Ordnance Department,
Research and Development Divi-
sion, at the Task Force "Frigid,"
where he observed the operation
of automotive vehicles, storage
batteries and other electrical
equipment.
Mr. Gerber found that at 50
degrees below zero it takes just
about all one's energy to main-
tain his own body heat.
While in Fairbanks, Mr. Ger-
ber visited Tanana Lodge No.
162, F. & A.M., the farthest north
lodge of Masons in the world.
He also attended a meeting of
Baker Post No. 11, American
Legion.

Mr. and Mrs. Irving Klein of

Bar Mitzvah of their son, Joel
Jay, Saturday morning, Feb. 8,
at the Northwest Hebrew Con-

gram will be featured at the next
meeting of the Northwest Uni-
versity Chapter of the Zionist
Organization of Detroit, which
will be held Thursday evening,
March 6, at the Northwest He-
brew Congregation.
Arrangements have been made
for a panel of experts to answer
questions in regard to the present
situation in Palestine. Dr. Oscar
D. Schwartz will act as inter-
rogator. Questions may be sub-
mitted in writing to the office of
the Zionist Organization, 1044 Pe-
nobscot Bldg., or asked from the
floor at the meeting.
Seymour Tilchin, provisional
chairman of the chapter, has
named Carl Schiller, - Walter L.
Field and Ira Kaufman to con-
stitute the nominating committee.
Elections will be held at the
March 6 meeting. All Zionist
members and their wives who
wish to join this chapter are in-
vited.
