Hold Hanukah Events
"Shines 'Em Up For Hias Hanukah
Beginning last Tuesday even-
ing, the first night of Hanukah,
the ceremony of the candle light-
ing was conducted in all the As-
rooms of the United
sembly
Hebrew Schools. -
Community singing and class-
room parties, at • which the
children arranged their : own
Hanukah programs, were featur-
ed. The program gerkerauy. -con-
sisted of the ceremony of the
lighting the candles, recitations,
games, playlets and songs.

tells her the story of Hanu-
kah. For some of HIAS's Jew-
ish survivors this will mark
their first free Chanukah in
eight years. Sabine and her
family are 'enroute to Santo
Domingo.

cil is forming five new Detroit
Lodges to be known as the George
Gershwin, Sigmund Livington,
Henry Morgenthau Sr., Cinema
and Northwest Lodges. Each of
the nett' groups will have 150 or
mole members and will- be
chartered by March 1.

trating on the SOS Clothing

Food drive and to date 7,000
pounds—cnt.—articles and essential
foodstuffs have been accun'iulated.
