NEW YORK.—The first step in
implementing the decision of the
third session of the American
Jewish Conference calling for
the establishment of a perman-
ent democratic and representa-
tive organization of American
Jewry was taken by the Confer-
ence Interim Committee meet-
ing at Hotel Biltmore, May 24.
The Interim COMmittee approved
the appointment of a • 21-man
committee whose task would be
to plan the formation of the new
body.
The planning committee will
be composed of one representa-
tive of each of the nine group-
ings in the Conference, the hon-
orary chairman and the chair-
man of . the Interim Committee,
the chairman of the executive
committee and nine additional
leaders in American Jewish life.
Louis Lipsky was unanimous-
ly elected chairman of the
executive committee. •

Bnai Moshe Sisterhood
Holds Meeting June 10

The final meeting for the sea-
son of the Cong. Bnai Moshe Sis-
terhood will be held- Monday
afternoon, June 10. A dessert
luncheon will be served at 12:30
p. m., and will be followed by a
business meeting.
The food shower for the bene-
fit of the SOS is scheduled for
Tuesday evening, June 18, in the
banquet hall.t Refreshments pre-
pared by the committee headed
by Mrs. Mary Greenfield will be
served the guests.
Ticket distribution is in charge
of Mrs. Minnie Katz, and Mrs.,
Eleanor Ehrenwald is treasurer
of this project. 'Mrs. Bradfield
and Mrs. Jos. Miller will head
the reception committee that eve-
ning. Detailed arrangements are
in charge of Mrs. Paul R. Free-
man.
