New Conference Group Executive Committee NEW YORK.—The first step in implementing the decision of the third session of the American Jewish Conference calling for the establishment of a perman- ent democratic and representa- tive organization of American Jewry was taken by the Confer- ence Interim Committee meet- ing at Hotel Biltmore, May 24. The Interim COMmittee approved the appointment of a • 21-man committee whose task would be to plan the formation of the new body. The planning committee will be composed of one representa- tive of each of the nine group- ings in the Conference, the hon- orary chairman and the chair- man of . the Interim Committee, the chairman of the executive committee and nine additional leaders in American Jewish life.
