Mrs. Martin Gurwin entertained on May 30 at her home on
Broadstreet in honor of the Misses Evelyn and Sarah Kraft, who
will be married at a double wedding on June 9.
Miss Dorothy Goodman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isadore
Goodman of 3323 Buena Vista, will graduate from Olivet College
on June 8. -
Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Goldberg of Hollywood, Calif., former
Detroiters who are visiting their children, will celebrate their 55th
wedding anniversary on June 5 at the home of their son and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mac B. Graham of 648 Burlingame, with
a reception which also will mark the confirmation on that day
of their granddaughter, May Graham.
Mrs. Harry Yanich of 2319 Leslie is visiting with her daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Rabbi and Mrs. Walter. H. Plaut, in St. Paul,
Minn.
A miscellaneous shower honoring Miss Clara Merlaub, whose
marriage to Max Shiener will take place on June 23, was given by
Mrs. David J. Shubelsky and Miss Lee Merlaub . at Frame's on
May 22.

Miss. Dorothy Shapiro of Ohio Ave., is on a few weeks' visit
in New York where she is the guest of her cousins, Dr. and Mrs.
Alex B. Goldman. Before returning home she also will visit
in Baltimore and Washington.
Mrs. S. N. Lipchinsky has returned from Chicago where she
spent a week with her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs.
Arthur A. Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Siebert of Palo Alto, California, are guests
at the Tuner Hotel for a fortnight while visiting their many friends.
Mrs. Fred Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd. and Mrs. Irving T.
Oberfelde
r of Canterbury Rd. left on Thursday for Denver, Col.,
where they plan to spend 10 days visiting with Mrs. Oberf elder's
family. Suzanne Ginsburg, who is attending the University of
Colorado in Boulder, and her sister, Mignon, who is a student at
Mills College, Oakland, Calif., will join their mother in Denver
en-route home to spend their summer vacations.
Mr. and Mrs: Oscar Zemon of Roslyn Rd. are spending a few
days in South Bend, Ind., as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
E. Baer.
Mrs. Louis Friedman of St. Louis, Mo., who spent the winter
months in Miami Beach, Fla., is the guest of her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rothberg of Chicago Blvd.
Dr. and Mrs. Louis Schwartz of Cambridge Dr. returned
on Wednesday from a few days' visit in Chicago.
Miss. Isabel Wolfner, who has been attending Columbia uni-
versity, is spending the summer vacation with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Julian G. Wolfner of Burlington Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Clamage have moved from San Juan Dr.
and are now residing at 18329 Ashton Rd.
David Mayer of Chicago Blvd. is spending a fortnight in New
York visiting with friends. •
Mrs. Annette Bartell and her daughter, Phyllis, - of Rochester
Ave. spent a few days in Chicago where they went to attend the
wedding of Mrs. Bartell's brother, Cassius Winkelman of Warsaw,
Wis., to Edith Spiegel, on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Winkel-
man of Fairfield Ave., Mr. and Mrs. Isadore Winkelman of Ren-
frew Rd. and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Winkelman of Port Huron also
attended the ceremony.
Mrs. Max Krell of the Lee Plaza Apt. is spending a few weeks
in New York visiting with members of her family.
Miss Joan Grosner will arrive this Saturday from Oxford, 0.,
where she is a student at Western College, to spend the summer
vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan S. Grosner of
Atkinson Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lazar and their small daughter, Diane,
have moved from Tuxedo Ave. and are now residing at 19342
Washburn Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Friedman and their daughter, Joan, who
have been making their home with Mrs. Friedman's parents, Prof.
and Mrs. Samuel M. Levin of Broadstreet Blvd., have moved into
their own home at 15824 Normandy Ave.
RT 2/c Richard A. Kahn, who has served with the U. S. Navy
for 2 1/2 years, including more than a year in the Pacific area, has
received his discharge and is now at home with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Ivor Kahn of Chicago Blvd.
Mrs. Joseph Beisman of Atkinson Ave. and Mrs. Max Hess
of Calvert Ave. have returned from San Antonio, Tex., where
they were the guests of their sister, Mrs. Isador Wolfe.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Mintz of Whitmore Rd. have returned
from Miami Beach where they spent the winter month;
Dr. Emil Rothman and his son, William, of Glastonbury Ave.
have returned from a few days' visit in New York.
