peace, and our first obligation is
to rescue those who were vic
tims of fascism and aggression
for twelve years."

desperate problems of Jewish
survivors in Europe can be met
only by an unprecedented out-
pouring of funds from Ameritan
Jewry to finance the work of the

United Palestine Appeal and the
National Refugee Service.

lems of Jews in Europe to the

'Factors in Anti-Semitism'

- At their next open meeting on
Monday, at the Jewish Center,
the Dr. • Weizmann Discussion
Group will hear an address by
Arnold A. Weitzman on the sub-
ject "Historical Factors in Anti-
Semitism."
This group consists of active
professional young men and wo-
men who are interested in Zion-
ism. All who are interested are
invited.

Speaker Will Discuss
`Zorn' Case' on Monday

Rabbi Jacob Hochman of Chi-
cago will address the Shaarey
Zedek Sisterhood next Monday
on the topic, "The Strange Case
of Dr. Zolli."
Rabbi Hochman became ac-
quainted with Dr. Zolli, prior to
the latter's conversion to Cathol-
icism, during his residence in
Rome, where, by request of the
U. S. Embassy, he made a study
of Jewish cultural and religious
conditions in Italy. Of the three
years Rabbi Hochman served as
a chaplain in the U. S. army, two
and one-half were spent on the
war fronts of Algiers, Tunisia
and Rome. He visited Palestine
in July, 1945, as part of General
Eisenhower's program for chap-
plains. At present he is director
of the Council of Conservative
Synagogues of Chicago and mid-
west director -. of the Women's
League.
Piano selections will be pre-
sented by Miss Harriet Lewis.

program chairman._
