hold its next meeting at the home
of Mrs. Goldfarb on Fullerton.
Mrs. Rose Sharkey, president, was
hostess to members at a luncheon
at the home of Mrs. Sadie Wein-
berg on Pennington Drive in
honOr of the success of the donor
luncheon of which Mrs. Sam
Stockier was chairman. It was
reported that the donor netted
$2,000 which will be used for the
adoption of six orphans. Gifts
were presented to outstanding
workers.

Mrs. Hyman J. Kramer, IN-
FANTS SERVICE GROUP voted
to send checks to the Mo' Chitim
Matzo Fund and to the Women's
Emergency Food Committee for
Passover packages. The next
meeting, at the home of Mrs.
Julian A. Grace on April 8, 1946,
will be a campaign rally..

CLUB will resume bi-weekly
meetings at Zak's Catering on
April 9, at a social gathering to
be featured by cards and refresh-
ments for members and pros-

cancer pads. The group, under

On May 26, the LADIES OF
YESHIVATH BETH YEHUDAH
will hold their 19th annual din-
ner at Congregation Bnai David,
Elmhurst and Fourteenth. Since
the recent growth of Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, the women have
undertaken the financing of the
Kindergarten and Beth Jacob
School for Girls and have pro-
vided two buses for the trans-
portation of pupils. Reservations
for the dinner can be .secured
from Mrs. Pearl Rottenberg,
president; Mrs. H. Miller, secre-
tary, and Miss Sylvia Eisenberg.

Daughter banquet at the Wilshire
on May 14. There will be card

are being made to raise funds to
sponsor a child's stay for three

Women's ORT - Honors
Members Wednesday
- Women's American ORT will
honor its paid-up ,members with
a luncheon and play at 1 p. m.,
Wednesday, April 10,, in the Jew=
ish Center .auditorium.
The play, "Global Dynamics",
will depict the work of ORT
throughout the world in training
and rehabilitating displaced per-
sons.
Mrs. Harry Becker, a member
of the Theater Arts; is directing
the play. In the cast are Mes-
dames Harry Cohen, Milton
Doner, Barney Israel, Sarimel
Greenberg, 'Herbert Metz, Marc
Markey, J. S. .Sauls,. Nathan
Simons, Oliver Ruby, Louis Ten-
dler and Dr. Bernice Warren.

Temple Israel Pack 146
Receives Scout Charter
Pack 146 sponsored by the
Men's Club of Temple Israel has
obtained its charter.
The third Pack meeting was
held at Hampton School March
25. The topic was "Bird Life."
An exhibit of bird houses - was
made by the members of. the Den.
Den 6, of which Mrs. Grey of

is'inade up of Tom Ettinger, Don-
ald Gale; Michael Grey, Saul
Kessler, Jay Murray and Jay
Rocklin.
The topic for April will be
"Hobby Lobby."
Stanley Michaels has been ap-

HENRY COHEN FAMILY
CIRCLE, formed in November,
1945, is composed of sons and
Ladies' Auxiliary of the Jewish daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
National Fund occupies a place Cohen, their husbands and wives

will promote the welfare of
members. The eldest son, Char-
les G. Cohen, was elected presi-
dent; Ethel Cohen, vice president,
and Jennie Cohen, secretary-trea-
surer. The first affair was a
Hanukah party. It was followed
by a New Year's party. On
March 10 a party was given in
honor of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Cohen's 45th wedding anniver-
sary. In the future, friends will
be invited as guests at meetings
held on the first Saturday of
the month.

DANIEL AVRUNIN, discharged
veteran who served overseas and
spent a long furlough in Palestine,
member of a prominent Detroit
Jewish family, 'is filing a nomi-
nating petition as candidate for
the State Senate in the 5th Dis-
trict on the Democratic ticket.

women's groups in the city which
have participated and continue to
assist in the JWB-USO service-
men's programs.
Established 20 years • ago by a
handful of women, the group now
numbers more than a thousand.
Its major activity' is to work for
the redemption of land in Pales-
tine to become the inalienable
property of the entire Jewish peo-
ple.
This energetic organization has
maintained a complete war efforts
program during the war years
and up to the present time. Its
activities consist of financial and
physical • assistance in the direc-
tion of USO programing, serving
at parties whenever called upon,
and geLerously contributing to
the Serve-A-Camp project.
Mrs. Irwin Shevin is president
of the group.
Mesdames John Hayman, Al-
bert Potiker and Harry Schwartz
have served as USO chairmen.
AZA 63 Wins Place
in Basketball Finals
The Regional Basketball Cham-
pions of AZA, Chapter 63, are
attending the District Six finals
in Rock Island, Ill., April 5 to
April 8. This chapter, one of the
yOungest in the city, was re-
organized a few months ago. The
boys who made the trip are: Paul
Fink, Donny Cole, Aaron Rosen-
stein, Jack Liederman, Mel For-
man, Mary Liberson, Burton Riss
man and Norman Licht.
