Bride-Elect

ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Major and Mrs. Harry Landsman are in Detroit for a short visit
to attend the confirmation of their son, Rodney Glenn, at the serv-
ices of Temple Israel, on May 17. Major Landsman is on duty with
the Fiscal Division of the U. S. Army, and is stationed at Camp
Rucker, Ala , as Post Fiscal director.
Lt. Jack H. Langer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Langer, is home
on leave following his graduation as a navigator in the AAF and
his being commissioned.
Ens. Leonard Eugene Adler, 'accompanied by his wife, arrived
on May 1, from Washington, for a 14-day leave: They are staying
with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Adler of Clements Ave.
Ensign Adler Nv ill report at San Diego for overseas duty at the
termination of his leave.
Lt. (j.g) and Mrs. Morton Lesser are:visiting his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Lesser of 2524 Blaine this week-end to be with his
brother, Lt. Irwin Lesser who is home after completing 30 missions
in the European Theater.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Robbins entertained last Saturday
evening at a farewell party in honor of Mrs. George Edwards who
with her two sons, Andy and James, is going to join her husband,
Lt. George Edwards at Camp Maxey, Tex.
Lt. David Schwartz who has returned home after three years
in the South Pacific is spending a 30-day leave with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Schwartz of 2471 Pingree. Open house will be
held this Sunday from 2-6 p. m.
Mrs. Bertha Kaye of Byron Ave. and her son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Blau, will have open house on
Sunday evening; May 13 at the Blau residence at 18509 .Penning-
ton Dr. complimenting Mrs. Kaye's son and daughter-hi-law. Capt.
and Mrs. Bernard Kaye who with their small daughter, Sharon,
plan to make their home in Detroit. Capt. Kaye recently has been
released from active duty in the U. S. Army after four years:
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Davis have moved from Leslie Ave.
and are now residing at 18267 Indiana.
Ave.r. and Mrs. Abraham Davidson have moved from Atkinson
e and are now residing at 900 Whitmore Road.
Lt. Stuart A. Karmann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Karmann,
3823 Cortland, holder of the Air Medal, three Oak Leaf Clusters
and the Presidential . Citation,' has returned from nine months
with the 15th Air Force in Italy. Open house for Lt. Karmann
will be held on May 13, 7 to 11 p. m.
Cpl. and Mrs. Dan Carpenter (Saralee Keys) are visiting their
parents Mr. and. Mrs. Myron Keys of Wildemere Ave. Cpl. Car-
penter is on a 21-day furlough from his post . at Moore Field;
Mission, Tex.
Lt. Richard H. Love who has recently returned from 10 months
Overseas duty is spending a 21-day leave with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Ben Love of Clairmount Ave. His sister, Mrs. S. S. Willis
and her small son, James, have come from Nebraska where
Capt. Willis is stationed at Grand Island. His uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goldman have returned to their home • in
Charlestown, W. Va. after a short visit.
Capt. and Mrs. Davis Benson and - their children Sharon
and Ronald have returned to their home in Efrata, Pa. following
a _week's visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Benson of
Calvert Ave. Capt. 'Benson was on leave from his post at the
Valley Forge General Hospital in Phoenixville; Pa.
F/O Arnold Rodin who is stationed at Nashville, Tenn., is
spending a 10-day leave with his mother, Mrs. Harry Rodin of
Boston Blvd.
Lt. and Mrs. Albert L. Fuchs (Barbara Wilkus) left on Thurs-
day to spend a fortnight' in Palm Beach, Fla. Lt. Fuchs, who has
recently returned from nine months of overseas duty will report
on May 22 in Miami Beach for reassignment.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Z. Brown of East Boston Blvd. have re-
turned . from New York City where they went to meet their son,
AS 1 /c Morris Brown, who was on leave from his post at Quon-
set, R. I.
Lt. (j. g.) and Mrs. Irwin Clamage and their small son are
visiting- their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burton Clamage of San Juan
Dr. Lt. (j. g.) Clamage, who has been stationed with the U. S.
Navy in California, is on a 30-day leave and after his departure
Mrs. Clamage and her son will remain with his parents.
Cpl. Rolf Manko who has been stationed at Lowry Field, Den-
ver, is spending a two weeks' -.furlough with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Rueben Manko of Calvert Ave., before going on his new post
at Laredo • Field, Tex.
Major and Mrs. A. Max Kohn have left for New York City
following a week's visit with relatives and friends. Major Kohn,
who is with the U. S. Army Medical Corps, is on transport duty.
Mrs. Gerald Sandorf of Warrington Rd., who has been visiting
her son-in-law and daughter; Capt. and Mrs. Samuel*Gershenson
in Miami Beach, is expected home the early part of next week.
Ensign Warren Shwayder, who recently completed his training
at Annapolis Naval Academy, is spending a 12-day leave with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shwayder of Fairfield Ave. IDO:ire
leaving for • Miami Beach for assignment.
Sgt. Sydney D. Beerbohm, who has recently returned from
three years' duty in North Africa and Italy, is spending a 45-day
furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Beerbohm of
Webb Ave.

Bnai David Women Hold Board Meeting

A board meeting of the Bnai
David Sisterhood will be held
at the home of Mrs. William

May 14.
The Sisterhood's Annual "Paid-
Up Party" will be held on Mon-

David Social Hall. Mrs. Henry
Schore is chairman.
Election of officers will take
place on Monday, May 28, at the
Social Hall. The nominating
committee consists of Mrs. Eli

dassah, held its first donor
luncheon on May 2, at the Al-
lenel Hotel. Mrs. Louis Gressel
of Cleveland was guest speaker,
Mrs. Isaac Nagler, - president of
the local chapter, presiding.
Mrs. Jack Faxon and Mrs. Oscar
Shorr were in charge of ar-
rangements and reservations.

The Sisterhood of Temple Beth
El announces its 44th annual
luncheon to be held on Monday,
May 14, at 1 p. m in the social
hall of the Temple.
Mrs. Archibald McAlpirie, Mrs.
Hugh Perry, Mrs. A. Mason and
