Mrs. Bessie Faudem of 2235 W.
Boston Blvd., and the late Sol
Faudem, was destined for: a
great future in major league
baseball. Prior to Jan. 11. 1943,
when he was inducted into the
U. S. Army, he was under con-
tract with the Detroit Tigers.
But destiny willed it otherwise,
and his career ended on the
battlefield.
His wife, Mrs. Lydia Faudem
of 9261 Wildemere, has been in-
formed that he was killed in ac-
tion on Leyte, Jan. 12, 1945.
Born in Detroit, July 9, 1921,
the late Pvt. Faudem was an out-
standing athlete while a student'
