Mrs. Jack Rothberg and her daughter, Doris Lee, of Chicago
Blvd. have left for Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Moe Ehrlich of Boston Blvd. are spending a week
in New York City.
Mrs. Lyle H. Rogers and her small son, Harry, of Muskegon,
Mich. are visiting her mother, Mrs. Harry Bierberstein of Mer-
ton Rd.
Mrs. A. Max Kohn returned to her home in New York City on
Tuesday after an extended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Nandor Simon of Boston Blvd. Maj. Kohn is at present on overseas
duty.
Mr. and Mrs. Moe Leiter of Chicago Blvd. have returned from
a few weeks' visit in Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brody and their son, Bud, of Muirland
avenue are guests at the Versailles Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla.
Miss Dorothy Reese and Nathaniel Reese of California avenue
have left for Palm Beach, Fla., where they will spend the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hibbler of Buena Vista avenue are spend-
ing a month in Miami Beach, Fla., as guests of their daughter, Mrs.
Emil Rose.
Cpl. Arnold N. Fox left last Monday for his post after a short
furlough spent with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fox of Euclid
avenue.
On the occasion of her 75th birthday, Mrs. Joseph Barnett was
honored at a family dinner given last Sunday at the home of her
son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Silver Of Oakman Ct.
Mrs. Norman L. Weisman and her daughter, Virginia_, of Dayton,
0., are at present living with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin D.
Lieberman of Chicago Blvd. Lt. (j.g.) Weisman is serving overseas
as armed guard commander of a Liberty Ship.
Dr. Moe Rattner of Longfellow avenue has returned from a
visit in Hollywood, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Casper Rosenthal and their small son, John, have
returned to their home in Warren, 0., after a few days with their
mother, Mrs. Mose Rosenthal of Dakota avenue.
Lt. (j.g.) Ralph Helper, who is stationed at the Great Lakes
Naval Training Center, spent the last week-end with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Helper of. Atkinson avenue. Mr. and Mrs.
Helper left Wednesday for Palm Beach, Fla., where they will spend
the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. John Frazer. of Leslie avenue had as their guests
last week Mrs. Frazer's aunt, Mrs. Morris Maurel, and her cousin,
Mrs. Hy Rubin of Huntington, W. Va.
Mrs. Emil • Baron of Hazelwood avenue is spending several
weeks in New York City visiting with members of her family.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Dunitz and their daughter, Mrs. Bernard
Brown of Fairfield avenue, are spending a feW weeks in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Nathan Fishman of Sherbourne Rd. has returned to Tucson,
Ariz., where she is spending the winter after a three-weeks, stay
in Detroit.
Pvt. Robert Greenstone has left for his new post at Camp Ellis,
Ill., after a short furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius
L. Greenstone of Birwood avenue.
Dr. and Mrs. Seymour Lipsitt of Boston Blvd. have returned
from a week's stay in New York City.
Mrs. Seymour Anoff and her small son, Charles, of Dayton,
0., are guests of Mrs. Anoff's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max J. Wein-
berg of Warrington Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schiller of Woodingham Dr. have returned
from San Antonio, Tex., where they visited their son-in-law and
daughter, _Capt. and Mrs. Henry Berris.
T/5 0. M. Kramer has returned to Camp Crowder after a few
days' furlough spent with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kramer
of Webb avenue.
Mrs. Ira Friedenberg of the Wilshire Hotel is spending the win-
ter in Miami Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sofferin of - Wildemere avenue are spend-
ing a few weeks in Los Angeles where they are guests at the Bev-
erly Wilshire Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Freedman of Manderson Rd. have re-
turned from a visit in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. David Singer of Broadstreet Blvd. are spending
a few weeks in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Isadore Gallow and her daughter, Selma y of Calvert avenue
are spending a few weeks in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Margolis of Woodingham Dr. have returned
from Chicago where they were guests at the Stevens Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie R. Schmier (Regene Schefman), whose
marriage took place on Dec. 23, have returned from their honey-

mug, to Akivah Drasnin, son of

date has been set for March 4.

Mrs. Lowdermilk to Address
Pioneer Women on Tuesday

With Mrs. Walter C. Lowder-
milk as guest speaker, the 14th
annual fund-raising drive of
Pioneer Women's Organization
in Detroit will culminate with a
special donor event at 1:30 p. m.
next Tuesday at the Masonic
Temple Auditorium.
Others on the program will
include Anselm Reiss, Polish la-
bor Zionist leader who, after the
last World Zionist Congress,
went to Palestine and was later
called to be the representative
of Polish Jewry in London;
Philip Blackman, noted bari-
tone, cantor of the Cleveland
Jewish Center, who will be ac-
companied by Helen Blackman;
Miss Emilie Adams, violinist of
the Detroit Symphony Orchestra,
who will be accompanied by
Rebecca Frohman.
Mrs. Samuel Edelman will be
chairman of the program.

Proceeds from this annual event
will be used to finance the activ-
ities of the Working Women's
Council of Palestine for the es-
tablishment of agricultural train-
ing farms for 'girls, cooperative
restaurants and laundries, sum-
mer camps for children, voca-
tional training centers, recrea-
tion centers for the Palestine
Women's Corps known as PATS
and other Palestinian activities.

Expansion of children's institu-
tions is included in this year's
program, and a new agency has
already been created in Nath-
anya.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Inez
M. Lowdermilk of Washington,
D. C., the wife of the eminent
scientist who proposes the Jor-
dan V a 11 e y Administration
(JVA) for Palestine in his great
book, "Palestine: Land of Prom-
ise," has visited Palestine and is
well acquainted with the Zionist
position.

Pisgah Women Hold
Luncheon Monday

Mrs. Leah Schneider, former
president of Women's Bnai Brith
District 6, will speak at the des-
sert luncheon of Pisgah Women's
Auxiliary of Bnai Brith 122, on
Monday.
The luncheon will initiate the
membership drive, and all mem-
bers are requested to bring po-
tential members.
Mrs. Frances Solovich, past
junior president of District 6,
will address a tea Jan. 25, at 8
p. m., at the. Belcrest Hotel,
sponsored by Pisgah Women for
the new Business and Profession-
al group. Esther Allen, pianist,
will play.
