cance will increase as the hostilities are terminated. With
assistance from every family having someone servirig in the
armed forces, the task can be completed speedily and easily.

ish Welfare Federation to be in-
cluded in Detroit's contributions
to the United Jewish Appeal.
Cpl. Tulcensky is a former af-
filiate of the Habonim, labor
Zionist youth movement. He is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Shin=
delof 2489 W. Grand Ave. He
is 26. He does finance work for
the Air Corps at his •pOst at
Carlsbad, N. M.
A graduate of Commerce High
School, he attended Walsh In-
stitute and was employed at the
Robinson Furniture. Co. before
his induction in the Army in
March, 1943: He is a former stu-
dent of the United Hebrew
Schools.
He was married to the former
Sylvia Gutman on Dec. 6, 1941.
Mrs. Tulcensky is making her
home with her husband in New
Mexico and is an office worker
at the air base.

Memory Honored
Detroit Violinist Killed in
Germany; Receive _ d Silver
Star and Purple Heart
Julius Hochman of 2053 W.
Philadelphia Ave. has been noti-
fied that his son, S/Sgt. Nathan,
19, has been killed in action
while on duty' with an infantry
division fighting. somewhere in
Germany.
S/Sgt. Hochman, who received
his Jewish education in the
United Hebrew
Schools, was a
graduate of
Northwestern
High School' and
had been attend-
ing Wayne Uni-
versity as a pre-
medical student
before his in-
duction in No-
vember, 1 9 4 3 .
An accomplish-
ed violinist, he S/Sgt. Hochman
had been enrolled at the Chicago
Conservatory of Music.
With the invasion troops on D-
Day, he had proceeded from
France to Belgium and from
there to Germany.
He is survived, in addition to
his father, by his sisters, Sarah
Hochman and Mrs. Lillian Green-
_wald, whose husband, Pvt. Ar-
thur, is with the medital corps
at Ft. Lewis, Wash. He is. the
son of Mr. and Mrs: Eli Green-
wald, 1995 Clairmount.
A memorial meeting for S/Sgt.
Hochman, who was the_ recipient
of the Silver Star and the Purple
Heart, was held Sunday evening
at Jericho Temple. The meeting
was under the auspices of the
Michigan Home Protection As-
sociation, of which his father is
a member. S/Sgt. Hochman had
appeared frequently as a violinist
before this association_ -as *ell as,
other Jewish groups, having vol-
unteered his services to various
causes.
S-Sgt. Louis Aaron
Killed in Action
Word was received here this
week that S/Sgt. Louis Aaron
was killed in action in the battle
of Leyte on Oct. 20.
He had- been in active service
since Pearl Harbor and had par-
ticipated in the battle of Attu.
He had been accorded many dis-
tinctions while in service.
Surviving•. him are his wife,
the former Jean Remer, to whom
he was married 10 months ago;
two sisters, Rose Granitz and
Betty Aaron; and four brothers,
Samuel S., Zal, Cy and Cecil.
S/Sgt. Aaron was well known
in many Detroit circles and was
active in local Bnai Brith.
