Mrs. Peter Vass and daughter, Alice, are spending the summer

Mr. and Mrs. Max Cohen of Oakman Blvd., spent a few days at
Essex House, in New York, and returned home last Friday.
Mrs. Rose Vehon of Tuxedo Ave. has left for a month's visit
with friends and relatives in St. Paul and Minneapolis.
. Harvey L. Vehon has left for a short stay in Chicago.
Mrs. Moritz Kahn of Lincolnshire Dr. has left to spend a five-
week visit • in the east. Her daughter, Miss Betty Kahn, is spending
the summer in Mexico City.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel S. Soss of Hamilton Dr. have as their guest
Mrs. Soss' brother-in-law and sister, Mr.. and Mrs. M. M. L. Shapero
of New York City.
Miss- Joan Freeman has returned from her studies at Vassar
College to spend the summer with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Michael
Freeman of Boston Blvd.
Mrs. Milton Kuttnauer of the Belcrest Hotel has returned from
a six months' stay in Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Jos,eph Welt. of Boston Blvd. are spending the
summer in their home in Walnut Lake.
William Friedberg of the Book Cadillac Hotel has as his guest
his mother, Mrs. Morris Friedberg of Los Angeles, Calif. His sister,
Mrs. Bernard Goldstein, has returned to her home in the south
after a short visit with her family, and his sister, Mrs. Burton Biel-
field, is the guest of her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry
- Bielfield of Wildemere Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Ginn and their daughter, Laine, of Birch-
crest Dr. spent the week in Muskegon, Mich., as the guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Leo Rosen.
Miss Bertha M. Robinson of Fullerton Ave. left on Saturday to
spend the summer in Glendale,. Calif.
Lt. Joseph Levin has returned to his post in Aberdeen, Md.,
after spending a few days' leave with his parents, Prof. and Mrs.
Samuel M Levin of Broadstreet Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Kline of Cortland Ave. and Mr. and Mrs.
Armin Hartman of Dexter Blvd. are spending a few weeks in
Frankfort.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin J. •Kuttnauer of. Canterbury Rd. had as
their guests for a few days Lt. and Mrs. Irving B. Seaman. Lt. Sea-
man, • who had been stationed at Camp Roberts, Calif., has been
- transferred to Fort Riley, Kansas.
Mrs. Harry Jones, her daughter, Ellen, and her son, Richard,
left on Wednesday for Plymouth, N. H., where they will spend the
summer.
Mrs. Harry Rosman and her daughter, Gloria, of Boston Blvd.,
Mrs. Joseph Greenfield of Glynn Ct. and Miss Bernice Rosenberg of
Strathcona Dr. are spending a few weeks in Greenbush, Mich.,
where they are guests at Greenbush Inn. Mr. Rosman and Mr.
-Greenfield have returned after spending the holiday week-end with
them.

Mrs. Harry Schiller of Snowden Ave. is visiting her son-in-law
and daughter, Major and Mrs. H. Saul Sugar, in Portland, Ore.
Apprentice Seaman Richard Thal spent a few days leave with
his. parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Thal of Glynn Ct., before returning
to his studies at Columbia University, New York.'
Mrs. Himon. Kaplan and her daughter, Sarah, of Roslyn Rd.
are spending the summer in Los Angeles where they will visit with
Mrs. Kaplan's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin
Kaplan, and her brother and sister-in-law, Mt. and Mrs. David
Lieberman.
Rubin Manko of Calvert Ave. left on Monday to spend 10 days
in New York City visiting with his family.
Miss Edith Langer, who, is stationed at Camp Crowder. with
the American Red Cross Social Service Dept. is on leave, visiting
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Langer of Fullerton Ave.
Dr." and Mrs. Robert A. Coggan of Roslyn: Rd. have as their
guests Mrs. Coggan's brother and sister-in-law, Staff Sgt. and Mrs
Leonard Berlin, and their son, Stephen. S/Sgt. Berlin is on a two
weeks' furlough from his post at the Metropolitan Airport, Van
Nuys, Calif. Their sister, Mrs. A. M. Moldof, and her daughter,
Susan, and another brother, Dr. Allan Berlin, will arrive this Friday
from New York City for a family reunion.
Mrs. Peter Vass and her daughter, Alice, of the Wilshire Hotel
are spending the summer at their home in Lake Shore Rd., Lexing-
ton, Mich.

Given Scholarship
Ruth Benson Edelson, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Edel-
son of W. Grand Ave., has been
awarded a Federal Scholarship in
Nursing Education at Teachers'
College, Columbia University, for
the summer session, it was an-
nounced this week.
Mrs. Edelson received her R.
N. from the University of Cin-
cinnati School of Nursing and
Health, and her B. S. from
Wayne University.
She is at present Nursing Arts
Instructor at Evangelical Dea-
,oness Hospital on E. Jefferson
Ave., a position to which she will
return in the Fall.

ity. He received his commission
at Yale University, was gradu-
ated from Harvard University,
and is now at the Massachusetts
institute of Technology for • fur-
ther advanced training.
