By Danny Raskin
It was a grand picture watch-
ing and listening to Dave Rosin,
president of Louis Marshall
Lodge, as he stood on a soap
box downtown, last Wednesday,
promoting the sales of WAR
BONDS. He knew what he was
talking about and so did all the
people who signed up!
It is our WAR BONDS that
are giving - Capt. Martin Alex-
ander the medical supplies hei
needs to relieve • our wounded
in Sicily. •
The money we loan Uncle
Sam is buying the bombs F/O
Bobby Shan must have to blast
the Japs off the map.
Our bonds are sending, across
the Atlantic, the materials and
tools to help Sgt. Sam Wander
build bridges for our men and
machines to cross on.
By backing the attack, we are
making sure that Cpl. Joe Hoot-
ner, in Africa, is receiving badly
needed laboratory equipment
and chemicals to keep our boys
well.
Our bonds are giving Machin-
ist Mate Harry Weinstein a
chance to say, "Our sub sank
same."
If Marine P.F.C. Jay Handels-
man were still in town, he would
tell yob, as he told us, how
much the sale of WAR BONDS
meant to him and his buddies
on Guadalcanal.
The WAR BONDS we buy
are giving these and all the
boys a - chance to come back--
alive! A chance to come back
to the same kind of America\
they left behind. And what does
it gives us? It gives us the right
to enjoy liberty and freedom-
to maintain it with security!

SGT. DAVE SCHWARTZ is in
Australia . e . Cpl. Harold Sitron
is on some Pacific Island. . .
Sgt. Irving Farber is either in
Africa or Sicily . • . Sgt. Bill
Kofender is in Africa and,
brother, Pvt. Jake Kofender is
in Sicily . • • Cpl. Nat Bloom-
berg and Cpl. Max Shulak are
in England . . Cpl. Archie
Wunsch and Cpl. Sid Birnbaum
are in Africa - We could" go
on and on naming the Jewish
boys from Detroit who are serv-
ing overseas. They all want to
come Jack! Every bond you buy
is a ticket home for one of
them!
AT THIS WRITING, Detroit
is below her quota - something
which hasn't happened to us,
yet. The month isn't over,
though, and neither is our bond
buying! Detroit has always been
known as the City of Champions
.-LET'S KEEP THAT NAME!

Buy Bonds to Bring Them Back"
here would we be
if THEY sctic$
NI Look at the headlines in this
newspaper today. They tell vividly
what our men are doing on battle-
fronts all over the world.
We thrilled to victory in Tunisia
...victory at Munda... invasion of
Sicily. And tomorrow more vic-
tories will fill us with pride in our
fighting forces.
But what would happen to us if
our men in Service said, "We've
clone enough"? It would be the end
of all of us.
We know, of course, that they'll
never quit.
We know, • too, that YOU won't
Iet America down. That YOU won't
say, "I've done all I can." For your
job is no less important than that of
the man in uniform. And this month
your country asks everyone who
possibly can to invest in at least
one extra $100 War Bond.
t You know the benefits of War
Bonds. They're the safest invest-
ment in the world. They secure your
future. They help your country and
your loved ones doing the fighting.
Invest not only out of current in-
come but out of idle and accumu:
lated funds. And do it NOW!
(1
For God's sake! We must
never forget that the living are
depending on us! "Please, folks
-please don't let us down."

If Ruben Iden, Sam Nash,
Jack -Winokur, Sam Eisen, Lee
Marlowe or the other fellows
who won't be coming back,
could be here long enough to
plead with us to buy and buy,
could we refuse? They died for
what we are asked to loan our
money!
HATS OFF to A.Z.A. .
.
'Their bond drive has already
netted over $50,000 and the
boys are still getting them . . .
They may not be fighting on
the battle front, but they're
sure doing it on the home
front! . . . What makes the
figure more impressive is the
fact that almost all the bonds
sold have been in small de-
nominations ! . . . Councilman
Billy Rogell will speak in be-
half of their drive at Chapter
63's 17th Annual Dance in the
Crystal Ballroom of the Ma-
sonic Temple, Saturday, Oct. 9.
