Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Allen of Lincolnshire Dr. and Mr. and Mrs.
Nate Shapero of Strathcona Dr. have returned from a few weeks'
trip to Phoenix, Ariz.
Dr. and Mrs. George Waldbott of Huntington Woods have re-
turned from a month's stay in Palm Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Philip Van Zile left on Wednesday to join her husband, Lt.
Van Zile, at Fort Sills, Lawton, Okla., following a visit with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo M. Butzel of Burns Dr.
Dr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Gates of Atkinson Ave. have as their
guest Mrs. Herbert Benheim of Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Grant of Chicago Blvd. left to spend a
few weeks in Hot Springs, Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard N. Simons of Woodston Ave. and Mr. and
Mrs. Oscar Silverman of W. Seven Mile Rd. have left to spend a few
weeks- in Hot Springs, Ark.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Goldman of Canterbury Rd. are spending
a month in Tucson, .Ariz.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Shwayder of Fairfield Ave. have returned
from Miami Beach, Fla., where they were for the last few weeks.
Mrs.. Herman Lewis of Griggs Ave. has returned from a few
days' stay in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Blumberg of Glynn Ct. have received word
that their son, Herbert G. Blumberg, has been promoted from 1st
Lieut. to Captain. Capt. Blumberg is stationed with the U. S. Army
Signal Corps at Monmouth, N. J.
Complimenting Miss Peggy Jayne Wallace, whose marriage to
Stanley Jay Winkelman will take place in the near future, her aunt,
Mrs. Edward Stein of Afton Rd., gave a luncheon in the Bagley
Room of Statler Hotel on Feb. 27. On Wednesday. Mrs. Julius
Green gave a luncheon in her home on Muirland Ave. and this
Saturday, Mrs. David Cooper will give a luncheon in honor of Miss
Wallace at the Women's City Club.
Lt. Commander Samuel J. Levin. on leave from his post at
Norfolk, Va., is spending the week with Mrs. Levin and their son,
Paul, of Canterbury Rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rubiner of Muirland - Ave. are spending
two weeks in Miami Bench, Fla.
Mrs. Harry B. Keidan of Parkside Ave. and Mrs. Jack Rothberg
of Chicago Blvd. have returned from a week's stay in St. Joseph,
Mich.
Miss Rolla Jacob and her guest, Miss Caroline Steiner of Day-
ton, 0., have returned to their classes at the University of Illinois
following a few days' visit with Miss Jacob's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Ben B. Jacob of Boston Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lindenbaum and their daughter, Miss
Helene Lindenbaum of Shrewsbury Rd., left on Wednesday for
Phoenix, Ariz. Miss Lindenbaum's marriage to Lt. Charles J. Vic-
tor, son of Mrs. Arthur Victor of Buffalo, N. Y., will take place in
Phoenix early this month.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Z. Brown of East Boston Blvd. are spending
a month in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Harold Barker of East Chicago. Ill., is visiting with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Oppenh.eim of Chicago Blvd.
Complimenting Miss Billie Landsberg whose marriage to Mid-
shipman Howard A. Winkelman, U. S. N. R., will take place on
March 7, her cousins, Miss Joyce Landsberg and Miss Elaine Bern-
stein, gaVe . a bathroom and closet accessories shower on Feb. 18. On
Feb. 22, a group of friends entertained at a cocktail party at Cliff
Bell's. On Feb. 23, Mrs. Leon Winkelman, Mrs. Alvin Winkelman
and Mrs. Isadore Winkelman gave a luncheon and linen shower at
the Book Cadillac Hotel, and on Feb. 27, Mrs. Ralph Levy and Mrs.
Lawrence Teitelbaum gave a dinner and miscellaneous shower at
the Levy home on Lawrence Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hamburger of Warrington Dr. returned on
Wednesday from a month's stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Miss Sue Anspach, Personal Service Director of the Foreign
Service Club of the American Red Cross, will leave on March 7 for
Washington to receive special training before leaving for overseas
duty.
Ted Moskowitz of Brooklyn, N. Y., was the guest of his grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Moskowitz of Blaine Ave., and was
entertained here by his family prior to his induction into the
U. S. Army on Feb. 23.
