Luncheon Hostess
For JNF Auxiliary
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard T. Lewis of Birmingham have returned
from a week's visit in NeW York Ci,ty and Pittsburgh.
Lieut. Martin Butzel has completed his officer's training course
at Miami Beach, Florida, and is now stationed- at Bolling. Field,
Washington, D.C. Mrs. Butzel, who has been in Miami for several
weeks, accompanied her husband to Washington.
Mrs. Joseph M. Welt of Boston Blvd. is spending 10 days in
New York City and Philadelphia.
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Himmelhoch of the Whittier Apt. enter-
taMed a group of their friends at dinner in their home on Sat-
urday, Nov. 7.
Dr. and Mrs. A. M. Hershman will leave on Tuesday, Nov.
17, for New York City where they will spend a few weeks. From
there they are planning to go to Arizona and California for the
winter months.
Mrs. Leighton Steele of Monterey Ave. has returned from
New York City where she spent a week visiting with her sister, ,
Miss Maxine Finsterwald, and her -brother-in-law and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. Guye M. Rowe.
Detroit Section of National Council of Jewish Women had a
luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Jewish Community
Center, for present and former members of the Big Sister Organ-
ization.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Broder of Lawrence Ave. spent the past
week-end in • Chicago visiting with Mrs. Broder's brother and
sister-in-law, Major and Mrs. Sol G. Meyers. Major Meyers, who
is stationed at Camp McCoy, Wis., was in Chicago to attend a
medical meeting. Mrs. Meyers accompanied the Broders on their
return to Detroit and is spending a week here visiting with her
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Baer of Fairfield Ave., Mr. and Mrs.
Louis K. Lambert of Whittier Dr., Mr. and Mrs. Clement Hopp of
Longfellow Ave. and_ Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Meyer of Chicago
Blvd. are spending the week-end in South Bend, Ind., as the guests
of Mrs. Baer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Ciralsky. They will
attend the Notre Dame-Michigan football game.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Winkelman of Fairfield Av'e. are spending
the week in New York City.'
Mrs. Charles Finsterwald, formerly of Chicago Blvd., is spend-
ing several weeks visiting in Saskatoon, Canada. From there she
will go to California where she will spend the winter months.
Dr. A. Max Kohn, who has been commissioned a Captain
in the U. S. Army Medical Corps, has left for his post in El Paso,
Texas. Mrs. Kohn accompanied him.

Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Moss of 18065 Northlawn Ave. will
have open house on Sunday, Nov. 15, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m.,
in honor of their daughter, Florence, whose engagement to Arnold
H. Rosman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rosman of Boston Blvd.,
has, been announced.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoke. Levin of Brighton, Mich., entertained a
group of friends at dinner at their home on Saturday evening.

Chicago, Ill., where she will visit with friends.
Dr. Daniel E. Cohn, who has been commissioned a Captain
in the U. S. Army Medical Corps, will leave on Saturday for his
post at the Fitzsimmons General Hospital in Denver, Colo.
Complimenting Ellis M. Thal of Glynn Ct. on his birthday,
his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. - Joseph J. Blumrosen
of Lincoln Park. entertained at a family dinner in their home
on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Barnett of Pontiac will return this week-
end from Miami Beach where they have been for the past three
weeks. -
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Alexander of Calvert. Ave. had as their
guest the past week-end Mrs. Alexander's sister, Miss Libby Mallin
of Cincinnati. Miss Mallin will report on Nov. 17 to the Great
Lakes Training Center as a Navy Nurse.
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Walters of Pinehurst Ave. entertained a
group of friends at dinner in their home on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Mrs. Bernard M. Brown (Lorraine Hibbler) is spending several
months at Galveston, Tex. Her husband, Pvt. Brown, is stationed at
Camo Wallace, Tex.

Dr. John B. Horwitz, who has been commissioned a Captain
in the U. S. Army Medical Corps, left on Wednesday, Nov. 4, for
his post at Camp „Swift. Tex.
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Glazer of Merton Road have returned
from Lawton. Okla..• where they visited far six months with their
children. Major and Mrs. Maurice P. Meyers. Major Meyers is
stationed at Fort Sills.
Dr. and Mrs. Harry Metzger of Atkinson Avenue returned on
Saturday from a short trip to Chicago.

Mrs. Simon Ginsberg and her daughter, Miss Norma ginsberg
of Warrington Dr., have returned from a twe weeks' visit in New
