"AN OPEN LETTER TO 0 UR READERS: "
In view of important, world-wide Jewish
events, don't you agree that it's really vital
today for every thinking Jewish person to be
up-to-the-minute with information and news con-
cerning people of the Jewish religion? Don't
you agree that The Jewish News is the answer
to the problem of "Where can I constantly be
kept up-to-date on what is going on regarding
myself and people of my faith?" Don't you
agree that this paper should definitely be
kept in business so that you can be kept in-
formed of the things that are so important to
know during these days?
If you do agree, and we are sure you do,
stop and think. You will realize that the only
way this paper can stay in existence is by the
revenue it receives from advertising space. In
the light of that fact it is most important that
Jews of Detroit support the advertisers so that
it is to their advantage to continue to advertise
in this paper.
All things being equal, these advertisers
should be given your consideration. Of one thing
the publishers of this paper can assure you --
that only firms that are reputable will be accept-
ed as advertisers. In view of our restrictions
you can buy with confidence at any of these estab-
lishments. With that background will you please
discuss this message with other members of your
family and ask them to not only read the editorials
and news about the Jewish people but also to please
pay particular attention to the advertisers and give
them the "break" to which they are entitled because
they, in no small measure, make possible the con-
tinuance of this publication. Think it over.
Yours very truly,
Maurice H. Schwartz
