THE WORLD'S NEWEST DEMOCRACY

In these times, when America seeks friends, an ally has arisen in the Middle East—the
State of Israel—the world's newest democracy.
Here is a country founded on the same freedoms that all Americans hold dear- -
freedom of religion, conscience, education—equality of all citizens without distinction
—a nation pledged to safeguard the Holy Places of all religions and to uphold the
United Nations Charter.
Today, as you look to Isiael, you see a country alive with the industry of free'
enterprise. You see a people whose faces are turned to the sun of democracy.
You see a land that was forged in the fire of freedom.

And you learn that Israel, like early pioneer America, is planning for complete
independence and self-reliance.
It is to help insure Israel's independence that Israel is now offering this Bond
issue—bonds that will help transform 600,000 more immigrants into happy
and productive people—bonds that will strengthen Israel as a pillar of
democracy in the Middle East.
You who believe in freedom, who see the importance of helping to develop new
democracy—you will want to invest in these Israel Independence Bonds.
