Bnai David to Honor Sperka on 18th Year With Synagogue

Congregation Bnai David will
celebrate the 18th anniversary of
its spiritual leader, Rabbi Joshua
Sperka, with a banquet at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, June 26, in the social
hall of the synagogue.
This occasion will also be util-
ized as a bon voyage party for
the rabbi who is leaving to
spend the summer in Israel.
Rabbi Sperka came to the
leadership of Bnai David in
May, 1933.
Rabbi Sperka received his
B.A. in Chicago in 1931 and his
M.A. in 1933 from the Univer-
sity of Michigan. He studied at
the Theological Seminary of Po-
land and Chicago. He was or-
dained in Chicago in 1931.
Rabbi Sperka is the author of
a book, "Eternal Life," published
by Bloch Publishing Co.
