German Exhibit in N. Y. Speeds RE -Nazificatio
. n

By PHINEAS J. BIRON

THE

GERMAN Industrial Fair in New York under
auspices of the American Military Government
provided official evidence of Gen. Clay's RE-Nazi-
fication policy.

The daily press tried to present the fair as goodwill
promotion for friendly relations between the peoples
of Germany and the United States. And for this rea-
son it held back information about
the Nazi background of a large por-
tion of the personnel and the ex-
hibitors.

For instance, the press did not make
a point of telling its readers that
our Military Government in Ger-
many had selected Peter Pixis, Hit-
ler's chief organizer of Nazi propa-
ganda fairs abroad, for the job in
America. Pixis' specialty during the
war consisted in setting up propa-
ganda exhibits in enemy countries,
slated fur conquest.'

At the present time arrangements are being made
' to
take the fair to Milwaukee, Chicago, Pittsburgh and
Buffalo.

Robert Bradford, a member of the staff of the Non-
Secterian Anti-Nazi League, the organization which
exposed the Nazi underlining of the fair, commented
as follows: "The delegates to the recent Cultural and
Scientific Conference for World Peace were not al-
lowed to stay long or to leave New York, but it seems
that the 300-oda German businessmen, many of them
well known Nazis, may travel about the United States
looking for orders." It is indeed strange.

BRITAIN IS QUIETLY reviving the Bernadotte
plan. It is no longer referred to as the Bernadotte
plan of course, nor is it exclusively pushed by Great
Britain.

Biron

When protests against the selection of Pixis mounted,
Clay withdrew him but engaged his wife, Grete, fo
take cha-ge of the exhibits in our country,

TILE PRO-NAZI German-American elements were
mobilized in support of the fair at Rockefeller Center.

The • internationalization of Jerusalem, one of the
' major planks of the British plan, is being promoted
by the Vatican under the heading of "safeguarding
the holy places." The rehabilitation of the Arabs in•
Israel has been delegated to the UN and to church
pressure groups.

One item, the most important political move against
Israel,. also of Bernadotte plan vintage, has already
been accomplished. It is the acceptance of Abdullah
of Transjordan as the ruler of the Arab partition of
Palestine

OUR FIRST SALE - - -

ISRAEL HAS two consuls in the U. S., one in New
York and a second in California. Poland has only one
in New York. Which reminds us that the cost of
diplomatic representation is enormous, especially
for
a small country. Weizmann's retinue on his visit to
New York was both impressive and expensive .. •

Benjamin, son of the president of Israel, does not
like politics, unlike his father ...

The Weizmann dinner which brought in a tidy

impressario in the Jewish field. Whether because of

age or presidential climate, Meyer is losing his dy-
namic imagination . . . too respectable!
