WINDSOR—Responding to an
urgent plea from the United
Palestine Appeal for immediate
a sistance to Israel, the Windsor
Jewish Community Council has
completed negotiations for loans
totaling $50,000 from two local
banks.
Additional aid to Israel will
be given by the Windsor Lodge
of Bnai Brith, which has set a
$10,000 goal as its contribution
to the community's welfare fund
campaign.
To help meet its quota, the
organization will present a stage
show, Oct. 17 at the Capitol
Theater, which has been do-
nated free of charge by Simon
Meretsky.

THERE IS A TREND in mod-
' ern business establishments
to omit the salutation and the
greetings in business correspond-
ence. I believe that this is a
grand idea . . . In fact, I'm all
iar eliminating phone conversa-
.ions that commence with the
;ame old "Hello, how are you,
what's new?" . . . There's no
reason why one can't plunge
sight into the subject of the call
nstead of the trite two or three
ientences of -introduction.
