Youth Aliyah Plans
Program and Tea

CARL DANOVITZ

of 2210 Pingree, died on Nov.

.

2, at the age of 55. He was a
long-time resident of Detroit. He
is survived by his wife, Mary;
three daughters, Mrs. Sam Rich-
man and Mrs. Oscar Sharf, ot*
Detroit, and Mrs. Jules Dano-
witz, of Battle Creek, also by
four grandchildren. The services
were held at Lewis Bros. Chapel
and interment was in the Work-
men's Circle cemetery.

HARRY H. COGGAN

Funeral services for Mr. Har-
ry H. Coggan were held Sunday,
at 1 p.m., at Ira Kaufman's Fu-
neral Home and at 2 p.m. in the
Chapel of the Clover Hill Park
Cemetery.
Mr. Coggan died suddenly tt
Harper Hospital, Friday morn-
ing, Nov. 23. He was born in
Russia and came to Syracuse,
N. Y., in 1900. As a young man
he was a sports reporter and
editor of the sports page of tit:
Syracuse Journal. He came to
Detroit in 1913. He was found-
er of Hudson Cleaners & Dyers.
At the time of his death he was
55 years old. Mr. Coggan was a
member and contributor to
many Jewish and non-Jewish
charitable organizations. He is
survived by his wife, Celia;
three children, Maurice, Yale
and Lois; his mother, Mrs. Re-
becca Coggan; four brothers,
Nathan, of Syracuse, N.Y., Ben,
Dr. Sam and Dr. Robert, and a
sister, Mrs. Jack Wertheimer,
all of Detroit.

MRS. HARRY L. JONES

ISADORE EIFER
died Nov. 16 at Miami, Fla.
Services were held last Thurs-
day at the Ira Kaufman Funeral
Home with Rabbi Sperka and
Cantor Sonenklar officiating. He
leaves his wife, Jennie; two sons
Aaron and Bernard; two brotn-
ers, Max and Louis, of Cleve-
land; and three sisters, Mrs.
Dora Adler, Mrs. Sylvia Streern,
both of Cleveland, and Mrs. Re-
gina Adler of Calif. Interment
was at Clover Hill Park Ceme-
tery.

ANNA GOLDSTOFF

of 3726 Atkinson, died Nov. 24.
Services and interment were held
on Monday in Denver, Colo. She
leaves her son, Nathan, and three
daughters, Mrs. William Her-
shey, Mrs. Rose Lavine and Mrs.
Sadie Hershey of Denver.

The Youth Aliyah program and
tea will take place in the Grand
Rill Room of the Book Cadillac
Hotel, Wednesday, Dec. 12, at
1:30 p.m.
Mrs. Harry Wineman, who has
for the past ten years headed
Hadassah's Youth Aliyah Com-
mittee, will preside at this af-
fair and will introduce the guest
speaker, Mrs. Waitstill Hastings
Sharp. Mrs. Sharp has rendered
distinguished service to refugees
in European countries through-
out the war, for which she has
been decorated by the govern-
ments of Czechoslovakia and
Portugal. Mrs. Harry L. Jones,
chapter vice president in charge
of program, announces that a
choral reading, commemorating
Henrietta Szold's birthday, will
be rendered by Mrs. Milford
Pregerson, accompanied at the
piano by Mrs. Royal Maas.
Hadassah will join in the trib-
ute to Mrs. Anna Werbe's 25
years of valuable service to the
Detroit Community in the field
of art. In her honor, a rece.,-
tion and tea will be held at th--
Jewish Community Center or.

A hospital party will be held
by Aux. 230 on Dec. 6, at Dear-
born. On Dec. 13, a past presi-
dents' party will be held at the
home of Rose Cantor on Wilde-
mere Ave. Past presidents. Luba
Lupiloff, Rose Cantor, Ida
Schultz and Eva Mann will be
honored and tokens of appre-
ciation will be presented to
them. Attendance is limited to
members only.
