Rabbi Rosenberg Returns
Sefer Torah to Frankfurt

Rabbi Isaac M. Lewin, leader
of Palestinian and European Jew-
ry, and Rabbi Eliezer Rabinowitz
of the New York office of the
Vaad Hatzalah are guests of De-
troit Jewry. The Detroit rabbin-
ate is cooperating with these two
Jewish leaders in their efforts to
acquaint Detroit Jews with the
need for funds in Europe and
Palestine. The Vaad Hatzalah,
which has sought to raise $15,000
in Detroit to carry on its work
among the Jewish war victims in
Europe, is combining its cam-
ptign with the drive instituted
here by Rabbi Lewin for funds to
aid in bringing Jewish war or-
phans to Palestine.
The Detroit Jewish community
will honor Rabbi Lewin, who is
the son-in-law of the famed Gerer
Rabbi, at a dinner to be held at
7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at
the Jewish Community Center.
Rabbi Leo Jung of New York,
one of the leaders of Orthodox
Judaism in America, will come
to Detroit to introduce Rabbi
Lewin, who will tell the real story
of the heroism of Polish Jewry.
Rabbi Lewin escaped from Po-
land to the Holy Land.
