The Vaad Harabonim, Council
of Orthodox Rabbis, calls most
urgently upon Detroit Jewry to
assemble and meet on the day of
invasion—as soon as it will be
officially announced—in all syna-
gogues and houses of worship. A
specific program, befitting the
sacred occasion with penitential
prayers, recital of psalms and
supplications will be prepared by
the rabbis for this great hour.
Synagogues will be open the
whole day for private prayers.
The time of public worship will
be announced later.
The day of invasion will also
be observed by all Jews as a
public fast day.
The Vaad Harabonim requests
that the Jewish owners of all
places of business be closed dur-
ing the invasion day services.
