A specific program, befitting the sacred occasion with penitential prayers, recital of psalms and supplications will be prepared by the rabbis for this great hour. Synagogues will be open the whole day for private prayers. The time of public worship will be announced later. The day of invasion will also be observed by all Jews as a public fast day. The Vaad Harabonim requests that the Jewish owners of all places of business be closed dur- ing the invasion day services.
