Equality Club To
Install Officers Jan. 26
_ The installation of the Equal-
ity Club will take place at King
Fong's Cafe, on Wednesday eve-
ning, Jan. 26, at 8:30 o'clock.
The officers installed will be

nie Jaffee, treasurer; Alice Gal-

The retiring president, Emma
Peck, thanks the members for
their cooperation during her term
of office. She also thanks her
chairman, Zelda Levitt, and co-

the Jewish Community Center,

This concert is the third in
the series of seven which the
above-named committee has un-
dertaken to arrange during this
season in our city with the aim of
giving the Jewish public an op-
portunity to partake of excellent
Yiddish programs at a minimum
charge.
Miss Gorby makes her first ap-
pearance in Detroit, though she
has already established a reputa-
tion for being an outstanding ar-
tist in her field, having scored
great successes in Asia, Europe
and America.
Benjamin
Zemach is well
known to the Jewish public for
his unique interpretation of the
Jewish dance. He started his ca-
reer at the Moscow Art Theater
Habima. Both artists will be ac-
companied by Miss Florence Kut-
zen.
Many organizations have pro-
cured tickets at a reduced rate
for their membership through
the office of the Jewish Commu-
nity Council. Tickets at the doors
which will open at 8: 30 p .m.
are 25 cents. The program will
begin at 9 p. m.
The coming fourth affair will
be a lecture by Dr. I. N. Stein-
berg on the topic "A Jewish
Territory in Australia?" Tickets
for this Sunday, Feb. 13, pro-

Bnai David Men's Club
Party To Be Held Jan. 29
The Bnai David Men's Club
sponsors the Saturday evening
parties of the boys and girls,
through the ages of 14 to 17.
The party held last Saturday eve-
ning had the largest attendance
of the season. There will be no
party Saturday evening, Jan. 22,
and the next party will be held
Saturday evening, Jan. 29, in
the social hall of the Bnai David
Synagogue, Elmhurst and 14th
Sts. In addition to the regular
program of dancing, games and
refreshments, several acts were
furnished by the Jule Adler
dancing class. A special program
has been arranged for the Jan.
29 party which is called the
"March of Dimes Dance". Ad-
mission is free.

Labor Palestine To
Dramatize White
Paper Issue Jan. 24
A dramatization of the issues
involved in the British White
Paper on Palestine will be pre-
sented by the League for Labor
Palestine, on Monday, Jan. 24,
8 :30 p. in., at the Jewish Com-
munity Center (Butzel Hall),
Woodward and Holbrook.
The presentation will be in
the form of a session of the
United Nations convened to dis-
cuss the fate of Palestine as a
Jewish National Home. Members
of the League will take the vari-
ous parts, and the audience will
act as delegates from the vari-
ous United Nations. The case for
the White Paper will be argued
by an official of the British Co-
lonial office. Representatives of
the Jewish Agency and of the
Histadruth (Jewish Federation of
Labor in Palestine) will present
the Jewish position. A delegate
for Saudi Arabia will bespeak
the Arab claims, and delegates
for the United States and the
Soviet Union will indicate the
positions of their two countries.
The audience, on behalf of the
states they represent, will par-
ticipate by questions and will
then vote on a motion to abro-
gate the White Paper and reopen
the opportunities for a continued
development of the Jewish Na-
tional Homeland.
The meeting will be presided
