in the auditorium of the Jewish

The three youth discussants are
Sylvia Berris, Boaz Siegel and
Joseph Zwerding.
I. Murray Jacobs, chairman of
the "Youth Speaks" Committee,
will be chairman of the evening.
After the discussion, there will
be a social hour and dancing. The
community is invited to attend.
The Windsor Jewish Youth
Council is a new affiliate of the
"Youth Speaks" Committee.
The Detroit Sholem Aleichem
Institute is arranging a special
reception for the eminent Jewish
writer, H. Leavic, on Friday,
Nov. 15, at the Workmen's Cir-
cle, on the occasion of the pub-
lication of the first books of the
complete edition of his works.
H. Leavic occupies a singular
position in Yiddish literature,
and during the past 25 years
rose to a position of prominence
among Yiddish writers.
On the occasion of the present
visit of the artist, an elaborate
program of distinguished artists
will be brought forth and pre-
pared by the Sholem Aleichem
Institute. The highlight of the
evening will be the reading of
an unpublished poem of H. Lea-
vie, "Ballad of Hopes," and the
general public and intellectual
Yiddish speaking public is in-
vited to participate in this cele-
bration.

cle on Oct. 28, of which she was

at the Yeshiva meeting hall,

The dinner will take place Sun-
day evening, Dec. 1, at the Bnai
David Social Hall. An invitation
is extended to all Jewish organi-
zations to be represented at this
affair.
The Hebrew Talmudic Academy
Yeshiva Beth Judah has recently
been re-organized under the lead-
ership of its new dean, Rabbi Dr.
Samson R. Weiss, who was head
of a large seminary in Germany
before coming to this country sev-
eral years ago. The enrollment
at the school, which gives the
students an intensive education in
Bible and Talmud, has jumped to
almost 100 in the first few weeks
of the new term.
