In a statement on the occasion
of the 30th anniversary of the
Turover Aid Society, to be ob-
served at a dinner and an after-
noon's program at Lachr's this
Sunday, Isadore Sosnick outlines
the society's history and declares:
"Our organization is heartened
by the encouragement given us
by the community at large in
our charitable and social work
during the past 30 years. Our
festivities this Sunday will in-
deed be a landmark in the com-
munity. The honored guests, the
numerous greetings we have re-
ceived, the holiday spirit created,
all indicate that there is recog-
nition of the work we have done.
We have not only assisted im-
portant local causes and aided
our landsleite overseas, but we
have taken part in all community
affairs of importance.
"We have grown gradually in
numbers. We cooperated with the
Jewish W elf are Federation,
HIAS, Los Angeles Sanatorium,
Chesed shel Emes and other
movements. We took active part
in the work for the new Jewish
Home for Aged and have been
actively interested in the cause
of a Jewish hospital movement.
"During the last war, the Turo-
ver taxed each member 20 cents
a month for relief purposes,
Later, the 360 members assisted

"Turover Aid Society has its
own home on Marston and Mel-
