Peace Be Restored to Europe
Under Present Forms of Govern-
ment?" A question period will
follow the main talk. Admission
is free and the public is invited.

at the conclusion of the meeting

span, Nathan Hersh and Edward
Herman. At this meeting ar-
rangements will be announced
for the next motion picture en-

Activities
Max Chomsky was appointed
to head the cultural program of
the Detroit chapters of A. Z. A.,
Junior Bnai Brith, according to
an announcement by Gilbert Ma-
diefsky, Detroit A. Z. A. director.
Chomsky is well known in Detroit
circles for his splendid work in
youth organizations having been
associated for seven years with
the Jewish Community Center. As
head of the cultural activity in
Detroit, Chomsky wil (have charge
of assisting with the cultural pro-
g•om of the 11 chapters.
The first activity of the cul-
tural head will be a youth and
democracy program. Phil Roths-
child, president of the Highland
Park chapter, has been named
chairman of the program. Others
On the committee include Ber-
nard Weisberg, Joseph Sosnick,
Herbert Bean, Don Black, Milton
Barnett and Israel Kaner.
Bernard Rosenberg, member of
the Bnai Moshe chapter 321, was
winner in the oratory contest held
at Grand Rapids, Mich.
Election for officers in the De-
troit and Windsor A. Z. A. coun-
cil will be held Sunday afternoon,
at the Dexter Jewish Center.
Plans are under way for the
formation of a Michigan A. Z. A.
Council to be composed of repre-
sentatives from each of Michigan's
18 A. Z. A. chapters.
The Harold Kopel basketball
trophy award will be given to the
winning team in the A. Z. A.

RALPH D. SCHILLER
Funeral services for Ralph D.
Schiller, president of the Schiller
Millinery Co., who died at Grace
Hospital, were held at 1:30 p. m.
Monday at Temple Beth El Rab-
bi Leo M. Franklin officiated.
Born in Baltimore, Md., 50 years
ago, Mr. Schiller came tQ De-
troit in 1913 and established a
millinery store that has now
grown to a chain of 30 through-
out Michigan. lie was a member
of Temple Beth El, the Standard
Club and the Elks. Surviving are
his wife, Marcia L.; a daughter,
Mrs. Jeanne S. Roberts; and two
sons, E. Howard and Ralph D., Jr.
