Junior Hadassah
Will Meet Sunday

The first general meeting of the
Detroit Chapter of Junior Hades-
sah will be held at the Statler
Hotel at 2:30 p. m. Sunday, Sept.
10, under the presidency of Miss
Esther Etkin.
The first of a series of hikes
is being planned for Sunday, Sept.
17, with time, location, and trans-
portation details to be discussed
at this meeting by Betty Milen.
The membership committee,
headed by Shirley Martin, and in-
cluding Annette Reiner, !lox Arfa,
Ethel Resnick, and Marion Yura,
is planning an active year. Anyone
wishing to enter a specific activity
should call Miss Arta, Townsend
7-2214.
The honor roll method of rais-
ing funds to fulfill the objectives
of Junior Hadassah proved so suc-
cessful last year that it is to be
repeated. Jessie Morrison and her
committee, including Lit Gershe-
notf, Ruth Hands, Betty Milen
and Rose Pasqua!, have begun to
distribute boxes to facilitate the
saving of money. The project
culminates in u formal affair, to
be held this year on Nov. 28.
Would-be actresses should con-
tact Ida Sandra Milstein, drama-
tic chairman. Anyone interested
in Young Judea leadership should

New Year Sermon

Rabbi Isaac Stollman, spiritual
leader of Congregation MIshkan
Israel, will speak on Rosh Hash.

On Shaboth Shuvah his talk
will be a Talmudical discourse on
Tshuvoh.

The Yeshiva Beth Judah re-
sumed its classes Aug. 22 and

the joint efforts of the execu-
tives and the ladies' auxiliary of
the Yeshivah.
Classes in advanced Talmud,
conducted by the president, Rab-
bi Stollinan, who was assisted
by Rabbi Schechter during the
summer, proved a success and
it will be the aim of the Yeshi-
vah to maintain such a class in
the future.
As the high Holy Days ap-
proach the officers of the Yeshi-
va remind the synagogues,
through their officers, that the
Yeshiva was provided with sup-
port from appeals conducted
during the holidays.
