refers to Storrs as "the most bril-
liant Englishman in the Near
East."
Storrs began his 30-year career,
fresh from Cambridge, with five
years in the Egyptian Ministry
of Finance. His first real chance
came as Oriental Secretary to Sir
Eldon Gorat and Lord Kitchener.
He shared behind the scenes in
the establishment of the EgYP-
tion Sultanate and the beginnings
of the Arab Revolution. In 1917,
when General Allenby took Jeru-
salem, Sir Ronald became Mili-
tary Governor and was later ap-
hOinted Civil Governor. From
1932 to 1934 he was Governor
and Commander - in - Chief of
Northern Rhodesia.

Czech Crisis Described by
Louis A. Komjkthy

On Tuesday evening, Jan. 24,
Louis A. Komjathy spoke before
the L. H. Jones Post No. 190 of
the Jewish War Veterans in the
Book-Cadillac Hotel, on the sub-
ject, "Among the Czechs During
the Czech Crisis." Mr. Komjathy,
who was born in Hungary and
attended schools in Budapest as
well as in places now in Czecho-
slovakia, came to this country at
the age pf 12. He speaks several
European languages. He gave an
account of his observations and
experiences in Central Europe
while there last September and
October. He was in Czechoslo-
vakia during the time of the Mu-
nich Conference and tells a dra-
matic -story of the preparations
for war during those tense weeks.
The other countries visited by him
were Germany, Hungary, France
and England.
Mr. Komjathy is an attorney,
practicing law in Detroit with of-
fices at 2232 Buhl Bldg. He is
a graduate of the University of
Pittsburgh and of the Detroit
College of Law, where he re-
ceived the degree of Juris Doctor.
He has been in wide demand as a
speaker both in and out of the
city.
In addition to the address be-
fore the Jones Post, the same eve-
ning he also spoke before an
American Legion Post in Har-
mony Hall.
