MRS. HENRY WINEMAN
as in every part of the country,
have shown an eagerness to be-
come part of a national movement
which is making an effort to get
as many children as possible out
of Germany and Poland and settle
them in Palestine.
Hadassah has this year allocated
$100,000 of its national budget for
this purpose. Each chapter in turn
devotes a part of its fund raising
campaign for Youth Aliyah pur-
poses to meet the national budget.
The work is directed In Palestine
by Miss Henrietta Szold, founder
and national honorary president of
Hadassah.
"It is vital," says Mrs. Joseph
M. Welt, chairman of the Youth
Aliyah committee of the Detroit
chapter of Hadassah, "that we put
forth every effort as intensively
as we can while we may still get
children out of these countries."
Mrs. Welt urges the women of De-
troit to help German and Polish
children now, while it is still pos-
sible to do so.
The Roll of Honor campaign
now being conducted by the De-
troit chapter of Iladassah enables
every Jewish woman in Detroit to
make her contribution to Youth
Aliyah. $360 ($15 per month) is
required to maintain a child in
Palestine for two years, During
this time he is trained to become
independent, and take his part as
an adult in the life of Palestine.
This low cost is made possible by
Iladassah's paying all administra-
tion costs through an allocation of
membership dues for that purpose.
It is in keeping with Iladassah's
principle that all money raised for
Palestine goes to Palestine.
Airs. Welt is being assisted in
her efforts for Youth Aliyah by
the following committee: Mrs.
Sidney Allen, Mrs. Edward Atlas,
Mrs. Douglas Brown, Miss Emma
Butzel, Mrs. Fred Ginsburg, Mrs.
Sylvan Grosner, Mrs. Meyer L.
Prentis, Mrs. Abe Srere and Mrs.
Henry Wineman. Mrs. Harry L.
Kople is secretary of the com-
mittee,
Airs. William B. Isenberg, chair-
man of the 1937 Honor Roll cam-
paign, announces that there will he
no rally meeting Tuesday, Nov. 23.
Instead that day will be devoted to
collecting of money and pledges
for the campaign. Mrs. Joseph
Frank of 1120 Chicago Blvd., Lo
4423, will be at home all day
Tuesday, Nov. 23, for the conve-
nience of captains and workers,
who are urged to make a complete
report on that day. Any member
of Hadassah may arrange to have
her money or pledge picked up by
calling Mrs, Frank or Mrs. Jacob
Mazer, Longfellow 6443.
