UNSER CAMP CLOSES
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR
The close of another season of
Unser Camp and Kinderwelt,
sponsored by the Jewish National
Workers Alliance (Varband) at
Chelsea, Mich., marks another tri-
umphant period for this under-
taking.
Unser Camp is situated In the
midst of an 140-acre stretch of
land owned by the Varband mem-
bers. On the grounds are sev-
eral buildings: A recreation hall,
two dormitories, one for boys and
another for girls; several tents
to accommodate additional camp-
ers, a hotel, the office building and
several cottages owned by mem-
bers.
The grounds are not only ex-
cellently located, but contain ev-
erything that may be desired for
a children's and adults' camp.
There is an orchard of fruit trees,
a garden, bathing, boating and
fishing in Long Lake, etc.
School sessions of the Varband
Schools continue all summer for
campers under the supervision of
the regular teachers. In addition,
there are other activities.
A new activity this year is cen-
tered in "The Studio," which was
erected by the campers themselves
on top of one of the hills at the
camp. There, numerous art works
are conducted, including painting,
carving, printing, modeling, and
other activities which are made
interesting under expert guidance.
Mr. Biskin directed the camp this
year.
