Tuesday to settle in Palestine with
their daughters, Drora and Sarah,
were honored at two farewell gath-
erings in their honor on Saturday
and Sunday nights.
Under the auspices of Congre-
gation Etz Chaim, cf which Mr.
Selesny was treasurer; the con-
gregations Ladies Auxiliary, the
Jewish National Fund and its aux-
iliary, Ilashomer Hatzoir, Mizrachi
Hatzoir and other groups, a ban-
quet was held Saturday night at
the Etz Chaim Synagogue on En-
glewood avenue.
Featured by the singing of Pal-
estinian and liturgical songs, ad-
dresses lauding the Seleanys for
their efforts in synagogue meters
and for Palestine were delivered by
Rabbi S. M. Fine, Rabbi Reuben
Hurwitz, treasurer of the National
Fund; Sam Seligsohn, president of
the Etz Chaim; Meyer Rosenberg,
who acted as toastmaster; Aaron
Kurland, Moses Weisswasser, Mrs.
Max Hayman, Leon Kay, president
of the Jewish National Fund; Miss
Zelda Rosenthal of Mizrachi Hat-
zoir, P. Slomovitz, N. Freimovtiz.
In his response to these addres-
ses, Mr. Selesny urged continued
effort for the Jewish National Fund
as an institution of extreme impor-
tance in Jewish life. An appeal
netted a sum which will be used
as a nucleus to inscribe the names
of the Selesnys in the Golden Book
in Jerusalem.
Gifts were presented to the Sel-
esnys by the Etz Chaim Congrega-
tion and its auxiliary and by
friends in the Jewish National
Fund.
Sunday evening, at the head-
quarters of the Jewish National
Workers' Alliance, a banquet was
given in honor of the Selesnys by
the Society of former Palestinians,

to visit relatives and friends.

Joseph Stolarsky of 2953 Leslie
avenue, and his children, Jean and
Charles, left to spend the week-
end in Chicago. Charles Stolar-

Bernard Hotel while he completes
his final year at the Northern Illi-
nois College of Optometry.
