Palmer has returned trom a three
months visit with relatives in Pitts-
burgh and Chicago.
Mrs. S. M. Lampke and family wish
to thank their many friends for their

Mr. and Mrs. M. Silverstein and
their aunt, Mrs. 1). Saint., of 122 Fast
Forest avenue, have left for a three
weeks' visit to New York with rela-
tives and friends.

The last meetig of the Semper Fi-
delis Sorority was held at the home
of Miss Fara Caplon, Saturday even-
ing, January 17. Plans have been ar-
ranged to attend a theater party for
Saturday afternoon to see "Take It
From Me" at the Shubert Detroit.
Dancing and refreshments followed.
The next meeting will be held at the
home of Miss Belle Cohen.

A very delightful and charming
gathering was field Sunday, January
18, at the home of Miss Sophia
Schubb, 68 15th St. The house was
splendidly decorated in Chinese fash-
ion and a chop suey supper was
served, which was followed by danc-
ing and interesting games. Those en-
tertained were the Misses Frances
Horgan, Eva Serline, Sophia Lehr-
man, Sara Carton, Anna August, Re-
becca Lehrman, Gertrude Rooch and
Rose Schubb, Messrs. Harry Seiner,
Thomas Schubb, Leo August, Meyer
Blott, Sam Grekin, Sam Lehrman,
Harold August and Max Schubb.
Many delightful affairs have been
given in honor of Miss Lillian Blum-
enthal, of Hamilton, Ontario, a re-
cent guest of Miss Sadye Catniener,
of Ferry avenue. Miss Sophie Alt-
man, of Hancock avenue, entertained
at a box party at the Temple Theater,
later taking her guest to St. John's
Arbor. On Sunday evening Miss Eva
Erusall, of Garfield avenue, enter-
tained delightfully for twenty-four
guests at her home. Miss Blumenthal
has left for Hamilton.

JUDGE JAYNE TO ADDRESS

NEXT WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Judge Ira W. Jayne, of the \Vayne
County Circuit Court, will address the
Young People's Auxiliary of Shaarey
Zedek next Wednesday evening, Jan-
uary 28, in the gymnasium of the
synagogue, corner Willis and Brush
streets. Judge Jayne, who needs lit-
tle introduction to a Detroit audience,
is a skilled orator and his message,
gleaned from a generous experience
with life in all its phases as it parades
before him in the courts, is sure to he
eminently worth while. The public is
cordially invited.
In addition to the address a musical
program of merit has been arranged
by Miss Hattie Gittleman. The eve-
ning will mark the resumption of the
Auxiliary's bi-monthly meetings. As
a deviation from usual custom, dan-
cing will follow the meeting.
On Sunday, February 1. the Auxil-
iary will give their usual dance in the
gymnasium. Finzel's orchestra, as
usual, will furnish the music.
