KINX KLUB.

Miss Rose Smith of Toledo is
the guest of relatives in the city.
Messrs. Louis and Charles Wag-
ner spent the week-end in Toledo
as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Wagner. .
Mrs. W. Berman of 180 Farns-
worth avenue is entertaining as her
house guests Mrs. M. Rosenthal
and niece, Miss Esther Rubin, of
St. Marys, 0., and her sister, Mrs.
L. Brenner of Cleveland. Several
informal affairs have been arranged
for their pleasure.
Miss Gertrude Berlin of Toledo
spent the week-end in the city.
Mrs. Saul M. Simons and daugh-
ter, Irma Nadine, have left for a
visit in Toledo.

OBITUARY

Isadore B. Rosenberg.

Isadore B. Rosenberg, who died at
his home, 197 Kirby avenue on Sun-
day last, was one of the most revered
Hebrew teachers in Michigan. Fu-
neral services were held on Monday
at the Beth Abraham Synagogue of
which he was an active and prominent
member. The last rites were most
impressive, being conducted by Rabbi

The Kinx Klub has been entirely
reorganized having a closed member-
ship of fifteen of the most active Jew-
ish young men of Detroit. The mem-
bers are: A. Pereira, President; N.
Glass, Vice-President; D. Friedman,
Secretary; M. Klein, Treasurer; C. Ja-
cobi, Recording Secretary; D. Her-
man, Clerk; A. Edelson, Sergeant-at -
Arms; and the Messrs. J. Karbel, M.
Kerner, C. Canvesser, D. Porvin, S.
Kutzen, and N. Kaletsky.
The ambitions of this live organiza-
tion are to promote friendship and so-
ciability among the young Jewish men
and women of the city, and their co-
operation is asked to help make the

Judah P. Levin and Rabbi Bass, who
paid tribute to the man who had been
an inspiration and guide to hundreds
of people who came in contact with
him. Interment was held at Mach
Pelah cemetery, where services were
held in the chapel.
Mr. Rosenberg was born in Kur-
land, Russia, in 1854. He came to
locati
America 30 years ago,locating
in
Bay City, where he resided for 25
years, in which time lie became the
spiritual leader in the community.
About 5 years ago he came to De-
troit. Mr. Rosenberg was an excel-
lent teacher of Hebrew, which he
made his life work. He was presi-
dent of the Hevre Tillim Society and
a member of the Hevre Kadisha. He
also took part in every movement
that tended to the betterment of his
people. He is survived by his widow
and six children, Lillian, Harriet,
Rose, Helen, Samuel and Mrs. Henry
Anthony, of Bay City.

RECORD CROWD EXPECTED AT
KNIGHTS OF PYTHIAS EX-
CURSION.

H. P. Cohen, chairman of the De-
troit Lodge of the Knights of Pythias,
announces that all final preparations
for the Knights of Pythias joint ex-
cursion to Tashmoo on Sunday, June
17, have already been completed and
from the enthusiasm and hard work
that has characterized the work of the
entertainment committee, it is an as-
sured fact that this will be the most
successful affair ever undertaken by
the local lodge. The excursion is un-
der the auspices of the Detroit Lodge,
55, Knights of Pythias, and the Uni-
formed Rank of Knights of Pythias,
Detroit Division. The committee from
the local lodge consists of H. P.
Cohen, chairman; J. W. Cohen, N.
Pereira, N. Shellfish and J. Kaufman,
while the committee from the Uni-
form Rank is composed of N. J.
Rosenberg, chairman; A. Goldman, F.
Berman, J. Berman and J. Rosenberg.
A musical entertainment will feature
the affair.

first excursion of the club for the sea-
son a success. The Kinx Klub excur-
sion will be held on Sunday, June 24,
to Sugar Island. The boat will leave
the Griswold St. dock at 8:45 a. m.
Dancing will be indulged in for which
a distinctive musical program has
been arranged.

New York.—The Women's Procla-
mation Committee, the national worn-
en's organization for Jewish War Re-
lief, will begin its summer campaign
in behalf of the Ten Million Dollar
Fund which the Jewish relief organi-
zations expect to raise in 1917. It will
send out thousands of table banks
among women in this city, who are
taking them to their summer home;.
The committee has organized a branch
in the British West Indies. Mrs. Al-
bert Lucas, the executive secretary,
received several days ago a contribu-
tion from a prominent woman in
Kingston, Jamaica, a fund raised in
the Jewish community there.
Among the contributions of the
week is one of $600 from the Alpha
Epsilon Phi Sorority of New York.
This sum is the proceeds of a dance
held in the Waldorf. The national of-
fices of the committee are at 203
Broadway.
