San-fuel S. Mayerberg- , who was recently elected to serve as as-
sistant rabbi of Temple Beth El, is to be married to Miss Gertrude
Rothschild of Cleveland, Ohio, on June 17th. Miss Rothschild is a
college graduate and she has been active in the public and Sabbath
schools of her native. city, and she takes an active interest in. all things
Jewish. The young couple will be married by .Rabbis Franklin of
DA044,,Wolsey of Cleveland, and by the groom's father, Rabbi
Mayerberg of Goldsboro, N. C.

Many delightful entertainments were given during the past
month in honor of 'Miss Sara Duscoll, whose marriage to Mr. Morrey
Mendelsohn will take place on Wednesday, May 30th. Miss Marian
Meisner was hostess at a card party, followed by a luncheon, at her
home. Miss Ethel Miller gave a box party at the Temple, later tak-
ing her guests to the Pontchartrain. Miss Lillian Freedman enter-
tained at card with a six o'clock dinner and dance. Miss Sadie Kamin
gave a handkerchief shower and stag, followed by an appropriate
luncheon Miss Edythe Brenner gave a box party at the Temple, fol-
lowed by a prettily arranged dinner at the Statler. Miss Jennie Mit-
tenthal entertained at cards with a luncheon at her home. The Misses
Anna and Golda Mendelsohn gave a dinner at the Cadillac, followed
by a theater party at the Garrick, later taking their guests to the Mac-
Diarmids tea rooms. Mrs. Sydney Alexander gave an "auction bridge"
party at her home, followed by a dainty luncheon.

Mr. and Mrs. Isidor Peritz of
100 Medbury avenue announce the
confirmation of their daughter,
Ruth, on Sunday, May 27th, at
Temple Beth El.

Mr. and Mrs. Israel Katz of 878
Brush street announce the engage-
ment of their daughter, Anna, to
Mr. Abe Srere.

Miss Blanche Hart has left for a
visit in the east. 'Miss Hart will
attend the Convention of Jewish
Social Workers, which convenes in
Pittsburgh on June 3.

Mr. and Mrs. Moses Steifel of
Ottawa, 111., are the guests of rela-
tives in the city.

Miss I lattie Groneman will pre-
sent her pupils ill two piano recit-
als on the evening of June 4th at
the '11-t Museum. Little Miss Myra
Finsterwald, daughter of .N1r. and
Mrs. Herman Finsterwald, of -Mas-
sachusetts avenue, and a pupil of
Miss Groneman, will add to the
pleasure of the evening, giving a
number of artistic dance numbers.

A party of Detroiters returning
last week from an extended trip to
California, included Airs. Bertha
Zenner, Mr. and lrs. Samuel Slo-
man and Mrs. Albert Zenner.

Mrs.
C. Weil of Virginia
l'ark is spending several weeks at
French Lick Springs.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Germansky of
113 Frederick avenue announce the
marriage of their daughter, Minnie,
to Mr. Saul Perlmon, on Tuesday,
May 22nd, Rabbi A. M. Hershman
officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Perlmon
have left for a trip to Chicago and
French Lick Springs.
