The music of Hal Kemp's and
Henry Busse's orchestras set the
tempo last night for a week-end of
festivities which includes house
dances, breakfasts, and a Union tea
dance. The J-Hop, recognized as
one of the most brilliant college func-
tions in the Mid-West, drew guests
from states as distant as California,
Florida, and Vermont.
Several of the 14 fraternities hold-
ing house parties entertained with
formal dinners before the J-Hop, and
a number of the houses also had
formal dances. The Union, Chubb's,
the Parrot, and several fraternities
served breakfasts after the dances.
Plans for dinner dances on Saturday
night have been arranged by the
various fraternities holding house
parties, as well as the usual tea
dances and theatre parties.
Alpha Chi Sigma
Members of Alpha Chi Sigma and
their guests were entertained at
breakfast after the J-Hop at the
Delta Chi house. Among the guests
